I have seen games start in far worse conditions than that and the rain stopped not long after 3pm yesterday. Still the referee is completely neutral in these things.....

The pitch was under water in places and Ernie Hunt caused a big splash when he was tripped. The game the following week was cancelled when the pitch was 50% drier! The Cup game went ahead I am told, because the Police feared a riot from the thousands of City fans there.

Guest pitman loves bristol city Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 just looked at the pictures of the rugby pitch , think the reply about the police calling it off is the best shout, does'nt look like the covers worked very well and it must have been hard for the stockport players to walk round it with only there trainers on? wonder if the rugby would of been on today?
