Guest City Scout Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 Anyone think that this rule should be scrapped?It certainly hasnt helped us by being able to put out a settled side in recent weeks, with the amount of chopping & changing between our league & cup teams.If a player can be allowed to play for different clubs in a league match, why shouldnt they be allowed to play for different clubs in a cup game?Surely this dated ruling is a restriction of a players trade?I cant see what the problem is personally.Anyone agree / disagree?

Guest DanC Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 Maybe a system should be brought in where as Say a player played in round one of his old club but then moved on to a new club he would then miss out on rounds two and three but then be allowed to play in round four and so on.A system like that would be more fairer, Especially on clubs with limited resources.
Guest TheBerkeleyBoy Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 I think the rule could be relaxed some how but you can't have no rule as if we drew Man Utd we could loan a few Chelsea players and so on - I like the "miss the next 2 cup games" or What about if no loan signings if they played in the cup or maybe limit it to 2 players who would normally been cup tied!Cant help thinking we are discusing this because this rule hurt us recently!!
