OK I know the club have initiated some 'deals' in recent weeks to encourage more fans in but to my mind its still not enough.

* The magnificant 7 deal would cost myself and familly £400+ (great deal if you have that sort of disposable cash)

* I'm not or anyone I know is under 11 (great to encourage the next generation of moaners as the disgruntled generation disperse)

* finally opening the EE, not sure how many more fans thats going to bring in

3 home games in 10 days - 5000 empty seats for each...

£17-£20 for an adult ticket is simply to much for 3rd tier footy. I cant justify forking out £60 per match (3 adults)plus travel etc until the game is essential (call me a glory hunter/ part timer if you like) and am pretty sure many more feel the same

With many premiership clubs recognising that empty seats are bad and slashing prices is it time for BCFC to do the same? How about a 2 for 1, matches or tickets per match deal would fill more of those empty spaces.

The last 4 home games Forest Swansea Yeovil Rotherham will be good gates near sellouts but this coming fortnight sees the team on the back of a gas defeat, not particularly interesting oppo with small away support. Is there a better time to offer greater incentive?

I'm not expecting a great deal of support for this on here as most will be season ticket holders and as such may rescent others getting a perceived good deal, so thoughts? agree/disagree...

No resentment here despite being a season ticket holder, we are fairly priced when you look at other teams prices in the division, we arent cheap but arent overly expensive in my opinion.

I agree! I am a season ticket holder, and don't mind the club slashing prices to get more fans down the gate. I doubt we will have much more than 11000 saturday, which is quite poor for a team in our posistion. Time the club does something about it.

agree to an extent however at the moment they will be in a position of getting totally slated if the reduce prices for too many games as understandably alot of season ticket holders will be upset by it.

In the longer term, like alot of other clubs, it will be interesting to see how City react at the end of the season in relation to match day/season ticket prices, tickets price have to either come down or at least be Frozen alot of the top clubs now aren't selling out and basically fans are finally voting with their feet at the highest level.

the fact that Arsenal are having trouble selling out the Emerates for some games is very surprising.

but I think it all depends on where we end up at the end of the season.

If we go up, hopefully their will be a price freeze on ST prices as despite promtion alot of people are going to see other price freeze's and expect City to follow suit.

IF we stay down then they are going to have to seriously consider reducing prices as otherwise people are seriously going to consider voting with thier feet.

Buy one get 50% of the next would be a good idea dn I'm a season ticket holder, those extra 500 emptys could maybe shift 2000 better atmosphere club get 2000 x £17 then hopefully say 1750 x £8.50 (bound to get a few not turn up) you do the maths plus you got food drink and programme money on top, no brainer to me !

Blackburn the latest prem team to realise that empty seats are worthless...

"...And Blackburn boss Mark Hughes added: "The players all want to play in front of full stadiums and it makes a huge difference to them.

"The supporters really can act as the 12th man and lift the players.

"I've been lucky enough to play in front of packed stadiums across Europe and I know the positive effect it can have, so it would be great to see Ewood packed every week next season. ..."

Also season ticket holder. After the initial outlay of my original (too many years to mention !) i`m able to save during the current season for next seasons ticket. I have no problem with the `deals` put out by the club `cos the season ticket is the best deal. Likewise i think tickets are averagely priced.

The EE opening for home fans isn`t neccessarily a drive to boost attendance but more a chance for the singing fans to be seated together again at last instead of being dispersed around the ground, boosting the atmos.

There is a huge difference between Prem clubs and League 1 clubs reducing prices (Not that I am saying it is something that should not be considered).

Don't get fooled in to thinking it is for the fans. The only reason some Prem clubs are reducing their prices for next season is that they will be getting a huge increase in TV revenue that will offset any loss of revenue through ticket sales.

Gets my support - season ticket holders already get a discount (rightly so, of course). And, as a ST holder, I would much rather see bigger crowds, even if they're in on a bargain rate. The "Magnificent 7" really isn't much of an offer, and as for the "sale" of surplus stock of replica shirts for "only" £20 - well, I really think the club needs to look very carefully at its marketing strategy, which is consistently poor.

But that is for the fans. Prem clubs could have maintained prices and the increase in tv money would have covered any loss in st revenue. They`ve passed to the cash boost on to fans by reducing prices, a win/win situation. Unfortunately since the debacle of the ITV deal Football League clubs only real source of funds is through the turnstile and many of those clubs can not risk dropping prices for a possible rise in attendance. The club runs at a loss as it is, any long term drop in prices is not likely, IMO.

Should we get promoted, a price freeze would be a more likely action. The natural boost through the turnstiles, with bigger away attendance, coupled with one or two more TV games should offset any lost income. However, should we go up, survival is imperative. The current squad will need strengthening across the squad, and that will mean activity in the transfer market. Picking up free transfer squad players will not be enough. Thats why i feel that a price freeze is the best you can hope for.

Just want to clarify that I'm not calling for a permanent reduction in prices just temporary for the next couple of weeks.

3 home games in 10 days is alot to ask of the non season ticket holders IMHO

No apologies for bumping this thread back up as I feel strongly about the situation

Tomozs gate 11 000 ish..... between 8 and 10 THOUSAND empty seats!

2 more low profile home games follow in quick succession before the final 'sprint' to promo

Even my year 7 students know that the SUPPLY outstrips DEMAND.

LOWER PRICES NOW

ps where does the supporters trust stand on this?

the £40/£50 cost of attending a game has meant I have decided I will go next week instead , when AT LEAST I can sit where I want
