We were trying to work out yesterday, which players are out of contract in the summer apart from Carey & Murray.

Somebody reckons Noble??? Is that true?

Noble has got at least another year, Keogh is out of contract as is Russell with possibly Woody as well.

Correct:Carey, Basso, Russell, Murray-I'm not sure about Keogh?

Listening to radio bristol after the match yesterday, and they said that Keogh was out of contract at the end of the season!

Is Chris Weale? I seem to remember something about his contract!

All with the exception of Carey are at stages of their career where they would be foolish to leave IMO.

I would have thought Carey would have learned from his Coventry expedition as well.

Sad to say really but at this particular time there is not one player in or potentially out of contract that is worth losing sleep over should they decide to leave or indeed be sold.I do not think I have ever held such an opinion before.....and I've been a supporter for forty years!

We could end up Gkless if basso and weale both tempted elsewhere and would be hard to replace 2 gks with 1 who is at least as good.

At 33/34, I cant see Russell and Murray getting new contracts. GJ's signing of Betsy and Wilson, seems to indicate an exit for Murray, especially if we get promoted.

If Keogh is truly out of contract, we need to sign him immediately. An increase until the end of the season, with a revised wage and bonus if promoted. He is the natural heir to Carey's position, now 30 and getting more and more yellow card niggle into his game as he gets older. I wonder about Carey and the hand grenade episode, is it possible that GJ has not forgotten, and if promoted Carey may not be offerred the contract he seeks.

Basso has indicated he would like to play at a higher level, if promoted I would give him a contract for a year, we know his attitude is right.

Keogh will be a premiership player at some point in his career, he is our young player of the year by a street at the moment. If he is out of contract we need to get him to sign one asap.

If Russell features in 2 more games he automatically gets another year... I think.

Thanks Tom, does that mean starting/substituting or either ?

I believe Keogh isn't out of contract, he signed for 3 years.

Definitely out of contract are Murray, Basso and Carey.

Possibly Russell as Tom says, and Woodman?, and a few of the grads like Benyon and perhaps Wring and Grubb?

Weale we have the option I believe, there was a safeguard due to his injury. I'm sure we will.

Weale gets an automatic years renewal once he has played 10 games.........apparently.

Woodman, Benyon are both defo out of contract, Woodman is good cover for McAllister but nothing more really.

Carey & Murray both out and hopefully renewed, though both happy at the club and no going to be in any hurry to leave.

Russell out and I'd be suprised if renewed, espec if we got promoted, if not promoted then it will no doubt be time for Artus to step in (hopefully)

also believe Keogh did have a 3 year deal?

Regardless of contract renewals etc the players I hope we let go in the summer are Woodman, Partridge & Russell as I don't see how they add anything tot he squad. I'm sure better squad players are available

I'm sure Weale will sign and Benyon IS out of contract and I can't see it being renewed.I sincerely hope we sign Basso and I think it's the manager holding on to assess his options in the summer, not the player. The last time we did that it blew up in our faces under DW and we lost Cole & Hill for less than their market value.

If we get promoted, I can see Murray being offered a new one year deal on reduced terms, as cover.Russell, Woodman, & Partrdidge going. We won't hang onto Andrews if we're in The Championship although I wouldn't rule it out if we're still in League 2.It'll be 5/6 out and 5/6 in.I wouldn't be surprised to see two or three of our seven current strikers go and two three come in.

100% Agree with you there, he is a big talent and has great potential for the future - hopefully here at city.
