Bristol Boy Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 Assuming that Brooker joins Murray on the injury list and that everyone else is available. To be honest, if Kuffour was playing, I'd be tempted to rest McCombe who struggled against Kuffour & Wjinhard up there despite giving us the lead. However, he's not playing and they've got Neil Shipperley who's strong, can take a chance, but quick he ain't, so the big man takes his place in what must surely be an unchganged (apart from Brooker) team. The only area I would consider changing is up front, with Andrews partnering Showunmi, but I think Smith deserves another start........BASSO....................CAREY.......MCCOMBE.....KEOGH..........BETSY......JOHNSON...SKUSE..........NOBLE.......WILSON...............SMITH....SHOWUNMI........SUBSWEALEFONTAINERUSSELLANDREWSJEVONSInjured:Brooker & MurrayLeft Out:Woodman, JMW, Partridge, Orr, Thomas
giles_23_bcfc Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 Why not play Andrews and Smith up front together? Nothing against Enoch at all but lately hes had a dip in form while both Andrews and Smith have been playing well. Otherwise, no reason to change the team. If Brooks is fit, i'd start him on the bench and bring himm on for the last 20-25 minutes

cidercity1987 Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 Is Russell fit again? It'd be tough on Orr to be left out of the squad completely, but that shows the strength in depth we've got. With all these niggles and bugs the players have, could GJ consider a bit of squad rotation? Wilson had a dead leg last night, so maybe McAllister might start, for example.

Bristol Boy Posted March 8, 2007 Author Posted March 8, 2007 Enoch hasnt scored for about 2 months. Agree with the physical presence though. And no i cant see him being fit!Scored on the 16th & 26th Jan and, in fairness, he hasn't played almost 7 of the last eight games. He is also more likely, statistically to score at home and his goals per game ratio is good. Now, if we can only keep the bloke fit............

At least were finally getting goals from all areas aswell now
samo Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 Agree with the team BB, and think the front two could pose some interesting problems for any team. Smith seems keen as mustard and willing to put in the running, and Enoch must be desperate to get back to scoring ways, especially at Ashton Gate where he "loves to score". Can see them both working very hard against what has recently become a half decent defencive unit. And I really hope Smith can nick himself a goal against the Bees, cause with Brooker limping away last night it would be great to have a forward find his goal scoring touch about now.
Guest swindlered Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 Brentford have loaned in Scott Parker - the rotters. He was a good player at this level.

If Brooks is fit, i'd start him on the bench and bring himm on for the last 20-25 minutesES hasn`t been fully fit for a while and before the lay off was struggling with that groin injury. !0 mins last was enough to see that he`s over that and it`s just a questio of getting him 90m fit again. If Brooker doesn`t start saturday then i`d go with a Smith/Enoch partnership. Jevons just isn`t doing enough during the times he`s come on in the last two games to warrant a starting place. Not sure if we`ll see Andrews again, has anything been said about being recalled to Coventry ?PDG

Robbored Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 By selecting the same team at Saltergate Johnson indicated that he's probably found his preferred starting 11.Unless forced to I can't see him changeing anything.Brooker may have another sick note in which case I'd simply play Enoch instead. Why change a winning side?
Bristol Boy Posted March 9, 2007 Author Posted March 9, 2007 Why change a winning side?I think we've bottomed out that debate
samo Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 Unless forced to I can't see him changeing anything.Brooker may have another sick note in which case I'd simply play Enoch instead.I think unless he's capable of a full 90 I'd rather Enoch was not risked from the start. Jevons was on the pitch for most of the game on tuesday, and we scored two of our goals in this time. He is also the only of our forwards to have scored recently, so I'd prefer him to start above Enoch, unless GJ feels he'll be a real threat for at least 70 minuites. With the hard working Smith next to him Jevons will get oppitunities and I consider him one of those who requires alot less chances per goal than others in our squad (although I admit I can't back that up with hard facts, just opinion).
Bristol Boy Posted March 9, 2007 Author Posted March 9, 2007 Quick rethink if the players reported as having injuries (Dead Legs!) miss out. That would mean Murray, Brooker, Carey, Skuse, Wilson.......BASSO.......KEOGH.......MCCOMBE.....FONTAINE..........BETSY......JOHNSON...RUSSELL..........NOBLE.......MCALLISTER...............SMITH....SHOWUNMI........SUBSWEALEORRPARTRIDGEANDREWSJEVONSStill plenty strong enough Left Out:Woodman, JMW, Thomas
