So he says on the forest official site - He basically says they will close the gap as they have two home games coming up therefore they will have the momentum when they visit the gate!

What a pratt! He is assuming they will win their next two games without any problems (Which I think they probably will but stranger things have happened) and that we will drop a significant amount of points!

Now I'm not saying we will continue this run of wins but theres no reason why we couldnt pick up a decent points total from our games coming up although I do think it will be tough.

If I was Johnson Id have this pinned up in the dressing room every game until the end of the season.

It's just like Stewarts rant in the EP on Friday - an attempt at mind games because they know that on the pitch its City who are winning right now.

Why do you think Wenger, Fergie & Co all do it - its because they know they need to try and unsettle their opponents any method possible.

In a way we should take it as a complement.

And Flappers recent comments too. Don't know if they really made any difference but I expect some people believe they did and are attempting similar.

It will be interesting to see what GJ is prepared to say regarding other teams. I suspect he will remain dignified and professional as ever, but will prepare the players appropiately!!!

I agree with all of the above, I just think its a little disrespectful - Not only to us but to the teams they have got to play.

Comments like this will only result in firing up your opponents so let him carry on talking.........

Sorry, exactly what should he say? If we were in their shoes and GJ sounded like he had given up the ghost, the board would be full of people ranting! We still have tough games to come at home to Yeovil, Forest and Swansea, and the trips to Doncaster, Millwall and Carlisle won't be easy, and I had better not be disrespectful to Crewe or Gills as both are reasonable teams at home. Forests run in has home games with Gills, Rotherham, Cheltenham, Bournemouth and Crewe - The away matches are mostly tougher with trips to Millwall, City, Orient and Brentford.

Do the Maths from Calderwoods side, 15 points at home, 3 at Brentford, and if they beat City, they are on 85 points, with anything at Orient or Millwall as a bonus. It's far from over guys! And the Forest game will be BIG.

Hate them. Have been nothing but arrogant for the whole season.

If we win our game in hand we will be 7 points clear of them. IMO in that scenario they won't be able to catch us even if they beat us at Ashton Gate.

We have the momentum not them. The comments by Calderwood are laughable IMO, and if he thinks comments like that are going to distract us then I would question his managerial skills.

Calderwood is doing a good job in digging himself a hole. The Forest fans expect promotion, they are going to be on his back for the rest of the season and if they don't go up then he can only blame himself for constantly bigging up his team.

He's been doing it all season I am afraid to say. Too much bullshit promotion talk in the media and not enough produced on the pitch :disapointed2se: . We are the best side in this league but Calderwood has royally ###### up since November when we were 7pts clear. If you go up in 2nd lads you will have deserved it unlike the wasters at the City Ground Calderwood being the biggest one. The majority of our fans are thinking that we are play off fodder now and are likely to get beaten there anyway. Calderwood only has himself to blame and will have to go if we don't get up. Bad luck in your next three games :fingerscrossed: we need a miracle for auto now.

Forest, if....when we win on tues, we will be 7 points away from you chaps.

That should be enough to secure our promotion...hopefully

I'm not Einstein, but surely if you were the "best side in this league" wouldn't you be in S****horpe's position?

The very same could be said of us at times, but I believe this is our best chance for years to get out of this division and if we beat Bradford on Tuesday, you will be looking at a play-off place for sure.

Oh dear, do we never learn, shhhhhh, all this talk of if's and but's is silly. We know from bitter experience, or at least we should do.

We must ensure we don't lose to Forest or Yeovil and pick up points at some very difficult away games, Crewe, Doncaster, Millwall, Carlisle and Gillingham are always hard fought games.

Calderwood is not being arrogant or big headed, just telling it like it is. This promotion race is far from over, he knows that just as much as Gary Johnson does. Even if we do open up a 7 point gap and retain it, if they beat us, that means they would be just 4 points off. This promotion race is far from over, and Calderwood is simply being optimistic. You wouldn't want any manager to be anything but in this situation.

Calderwood can say all he wants about promotion, but he is forgetting another part of the equation.

Yeovil are currently third, and just wont go away, far from dying off because of a small squad, no money etc, they are hanging on like a junk yard dog with a bone. IMO City's final block of 10 games is a lot harder than Forest's, and the 2 points a game average will be a tough ask.

In all fairness if the Forest manager doesn't believe then i would be worried as a fan. He is just saying the right things to people. He may well not believe it.

I had a season ticket at City for many years, but due to job relocation have watched Nottingham Forest now for 10 years, but always look out and go to watch City when I get the chance.

Many of the Forest supporters have been very apprehensive about their chances of promotion with Colin Calderwood in charge. Forest have many decent players, but his constant inability to manage them properly, play them out of position, his tactics and negative defensive play are ruining any promotion chance that Forest may have.

Some of the games we have had to endure this season have been absolutely dire, and I for one would be very happy to see the back of CC as soon as possible.

Even when Forest were seven points clear they werent playing well, and I said to people at the time that if they continued to play so bad, Forest would would eventually start to drop down the table which is exactly what has happened.

Anyway the 31st will be interesting. Personally I believe that City will take the 2nd position.

Best of luck.

Nice to hear an honest view from a Forest fan. Your fans must be gutted. You were favourites at the start of the season and even made a gap(like you said 7 points). You've spent well over a million on players yet your not comfortably in teh top 2 places. These still a long way to go yet but you must be disappointed with the players you have and the position your in at present. Just goes to show you don't have to spend to get out of this division.

Thanks for your comments. There is great expectation at Forest, from the days of old. The fans expect Forest to be in a higher division, and they have no devine right to this, you have to earn your position in the league. The Chairman althought he has financed Forest well hasnt got a clue when it comes to choosing managers. Forest I believe are currently in their lowest league position ever and the only common denominator throughout all this failure is the current Chairman Nigel Doughty and Chief Executive.

Unlike some Forest fans I think the players are good enough, and you are right about what you say about spending, just look at S****horpe - I personally don't feel disappointed with the players, I believe they are good enough for this division, but they are just not being utilised properly. When CC was appointed several Northampton fans warned us that the football would be very defensive and very boring, and they were right.

Looking forward to coming back to Bristol on 31st, having watched Forest a lot this season I cant see them getting anything from this game, think the best they can hope for is the play-off (if that).

Can I ask you a question I keep reading on this forum about the East End reopening is that what they now call the Wedlock stand, that was the home end when I used to go??

Nice speaking with you

That will be the Micra-Wedlock stand now. Yes used to home city fans for many many years and is now wanted back by the fans. There were 600 fans singing in there very loudly yesterday and helped spur our players on to a 5th straight win. We really need to get behind the lads now until the end of the season. Ive heard about how much stick your players got at Forest on Tuesday night after losing to Doncaster. Its a shame because us fans need to get behind the team whoever we support. Forest are a much bigger club than City havre more history than us and a much bigger fanbase. I really thought at the start of the season you would walk this league with the quality players you have. Its a shame that Calderwood hasn't shone as well as you expected him to. It will also be interesting if you did fail to get promoted that you would sack him and rebuild again in the summer? Sheffield Wednesday took a few seasons to get out of this league and I believe its a far more difficult league to get out of than some clubs think. As for S****horpe you have to take your hat off to them. Yes they do have a quality striker in Sharp but the team isnt built around him they have a solid defence which shows with their goal difference. Its going to be tight to the end but think if we can beat Bradford on Tuesday night and with the 7 point gap we make then automatic promotion is for us to lose. Good luck with the rest of the season.
