While we are celebrating todays vital win - Oh yeah, Come On You Reds!! - there are well over 300 people online here right now.

If we all took a couple of minutes out to sign the Save Wedlocks Pub petition (see sub forum) we could triple the number of signatures instantly.

Wedlocks is important not only from a Bristol City point of view (traditionally very important) but for everyone who values our Public House Heritage thoughout the UK & is sick & tired of property developers making big buck profits that destroy community facilities (ie the 'local') by pricing out community public houses, reducing them to rubble & building souless little blocks of flats everwhere... pubs are disappearing, petrol stations likewise.. MAKE A STAND & HELP SAVE WEDLOCKS .. please!

If you love Bristol City, or if you simply just love a pint in a pub now & again... (& who doesnt) then lets promote City this season & promote Wedlocks as a pub today - bring Wedlocks back to life!!!

....anyone got details of how to put comments in writing to the Bristol planning dept?

as well as signing the online petition its probably a good idea to 'put it in writing' - expect it might carry more 'weight', so if anyone knows the correct address for the planning dept (& any ref no's relevant to the Wedlocks planning application) can you post it here please? ......... CHEERS!

You should also copy in your local councillor (if you live in Bristol).

I fail to see how it could be viable, particularly without taking trade away from other pubs in the area, Ship & Castle, Robins, Rising Sun, although restored properly it would be more atmospheric than them.

If it is saved, can it be called The Star again please?

Can someone explain to me what the City heritage is that makes it worth saving as a pub? (and please don't say Fatty Wedlock ran it and City fans drank in it before the game)
