Guest Denilson Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 This is where I've read it fromdon't you just hope its us?Mikael Forssell is the name. Please be warned this is only a rumour, and I havent spoke to players uncles brothers cousin... :[
bh red Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 "The Forse will be going out on loan til the end of the season to an,as yet, unconfirmed League 1 side. "according to a Brum fan.........could be anyonebe very suprised though
Red Cloud Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 can you imagine the wages though? - be worth if he fires us up there but a hell of a gamble if he didn't - can't see it happening though!
Guest Denilson Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 can you imagine the wages though? - be worth if he fires us up there but a hell of a gamble if he didn't - can't see it happening though! In loans, you don't even have to pay player wages. Birmingham could still be paying his wages and he could play for us.
barney999 Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 On the official Brum site, Bruce said last week he would like to send Forssel outr on loan, but only if he could get instant recall, however with loans you need to give a min 28 days. He said he did not think he would bring anyone in unless they were high quality. Cole has signed, so he will let someone go out. I hope it is us and not Forrest though..........Hope I am wrong but being where Forest are etc it smells like Forssel could be facing us next week. Maybe Grant Holt will come this way in they get Forssel in???How would we feel about that?Barney

Maybe Grant Holt will come this way in they get Forssel in???How would we feel about that?Barneythere is no chance that at this close to the end of the season Forest with give a player to a team they are trying to overtake in the league.......would be suicide!would be like us giving Jamie McCombe to Scunny to help them secure top spot
Bristol Boy Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Well, it says a League One side and, even if he's on £10kpw, that's only £80k to fire us up a Division so it's plausible.Don't forget we got Nick Wright from Brum earlier in the season. The lad's quality although he's had a lot of injury problems, even 75% fit he's quicker and better than anything we've got. Here's hoping!
Guest brizzlered1 Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Hope I am wrong but being where Forest are etc it smells like Forssel could be facing us next week. Oh, hang on, Marcus Stewart!!!Seriously though, Holt won't be coming. Would be great if its Forsell but I have a sneaky feeling it will be Forest which is not a good thing.
BCAGFC Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Mikkel Forssell is exactly the type of player we need but I doubt if GJ has even enquired as it is not 'with a view to', IMO it has to be Forest.Just a thought though, imagine if it was S****horpe, whoever gets him will score goals.BCAGFC
Guest bigbadbonkingbob Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 We have more strikers than we know what to do with - Tyson, Agogo, Holt, Dobie and Lester to name but five. Calderwood has said that we are expecting at least one loan signing, but it will be a midfielder as we're missing a number through injury.
Red Cloud Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 "In loans, you don't even have to pay player wages. Birmingham could still be paying his wages and he could play for us" - you can pay all, some or none - if he's is def available for loan then so many clubs will be fighting to get him I would imagine you'd have to pay pretty much all his wages!
bh red Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 It amazes me the optimism of some City fans. When was the last time we got a decent striker in on loan?as previously mentioned Steve Bruce said a few weeks ago that he would let him go out on loan to a league one club for fitness once he had signed another striker, today he signed Andy Cole on loan for the seasonWe need a striker (apparently)Let's be honest.......it's a MASSIVE long shot that it's us, but compared to other league one clubs we stand as good a chance as anyone
cheshire_red Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 I'd say it was about 4/1 it is us if he is going to a League 1 side that isn't a long shot.
Ashcott Boy Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 He would be an excellent signing and a great bit of business by GJ, he could be the difference between automatic promotion and the play-offs. He may not be fit but even then he is better than Smithor probably anyone else we have.I wont believe it until i see official news but as rumours go its a very promising one.
NiceRed Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 as previously mentioned Steve Bruce said a few weeks ago that he would let him go out on loan to a league one club for fitness once he had signed another striker, today he signed Andy Cole on loan for the seasonWe need a striker (apparently)Let's be honest.......it's a MASSIVE long shot that it's us, but compared to other league one clubs we stand as good a chance as anyoneIf he IS going to a League 1 club, then realistically it's a choice between us, Forest, Scunny and maybe Swans or Oldham. Not that unlikely really.
Bristol Boy Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 "In loans, you don't even have to pay player wages. cheshire_red Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 That lad from Brentford there still was it DJ Campbell?
robins72 Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 That lad from Brentford there still was it DJ Campbell?Yeah hes at Brum. HAd alot of pace if I remember rightly.
Rocky Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Bridges came didn't he?Really would doubt he would come to us though!
Chessels Chick Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 If he IS going to a League 1 club, then realistically it's a choice between us, Forest, Scunny and maybe Swans or Oldham. Not that unlikely really. They have signed Darryl Duffy (who??) from Hull so take them out of equation maybe - though they do seem to have signed a lot of strikers this season!
WhistleHappy Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 ...just a possible loan then is it ,,,,,,,, he aint FOR SALE then?...
Longacre_red Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Oldham have signed some Liverpool youngster.hes a defender
BS10 RED Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Your all dreaming could you really see a player like that coming to city even on loan, were end up with a striker from rochdale who hasn't played for 6months
samo Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 If he IS going to a League 1 club, then realistically it's a choice between us, Forest, Scunny and maybe Swans or Oldham. Not that unlikely really.Forest have a load of strikers, most of them fit. As mentioned by the Tricky Tree above, they need midfielders really.Scunny already have a top notch striker partnership who are scoring for fun. I doubt Forssell would be paid a shed load to sit on the bench anywhere, and Scunny aren't the richest either. Still possible though. As for Oldham and Swansea, well I'd say Swansea signing Duffy puts them out but Oldham could be a real possibility.Still, hope we're in with a decent shout!
Rocky Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 I'd go for Cheltenham as his destination actually Probably end up at Yeovil knowing our luck
old_man_terry Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Correct, it depends on the circumstances and competition, so expect to be shelling out £8-12,000pw-Peanuts if he gets goals and they get us up.Also Brum have Cole, Bendtner, Jerome, McSheffery & Vine......there's about £15m quids worth there and Forsell's only played five times this season scoring once, so he needs football.8-12..rumoured to be on 30k per week when he joined them!
Bristol Boy Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 8-12..rumoured to be on 30k per week when he joined them!Still peanuts if he helps us get promoted.
old_man_terry Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Still peanuts if he helps us get promoted.IFIF he doesn't he has been a VERY expensive mistake£200k to have a player for 6-8 weeks???? - don't care if it is Wayne Rooney.......that is too much money for a club like usIF we signed him it would have to be to with Brum making a MAJOR contrib to his wages, something in the region of 80%
old_man_terry Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Unless I've missed something, isn't it just one Brum supporter saying that Forsell's going on loan to a league 1 club ?If so, not exactly a reliable source is it.Steve Bruce said a week or so back that he wanted to send out Forsell on loan to a lower league club to get some games and fitness, but wasn't willing to do so until he had signed some quality cover as if he let him go he couldn't recall him for the 1st month. They signed Andy Cole today on loan until end of season, so it is just a case of Bruce following through what he said
bucksred Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 It amazes me the optimism of some City fans. When was the last time we got a decent striker in on loan?Andy Cole............
EmersonsKev Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 If Forrsell is an option. How about tying in a promotion clause into the loan deal for Birmingham.

Guest Bobo Dave Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 Talk about making a rumour out of nothing......Where exactly does it say in the link - he's going to Bristol City.?
BCFC Grim Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 And where exactly has it been said on this thread he is coming to us BD. Looks like he is available on loan, no harm in trying. No harm being turned away. Atleast its showing some sort of ambition.
bh red Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 Talk about making a rumour out of nothing......Where exactly does it say in the link - he's going to Bristol City.? Nowhere.however Bruce said a couple of weeks ago, if he could get someone else in he would be going to a league one club.We are a league one club and hopefully one of the most attractive clubs for him to have joined.however Bruce has since changed his mind so it's not going to happen
