Just wondering if anyone is in contact with someone at the reserves game at AG tonight. It kicked off at 7 and rumour has it Brooker was getting a run out.

Any idea of a score?

Not that I'm into replying to my own posts but I just received a txt which informed me that we are 1 nil up Woody has scored in the 73rd min

Just make sure Brooker and any one else on the first team get through alright with no problems!

Maybe saving him for the bench on saturday? :fingerscrossed:

He played for 30 mins I am told.

IMO thats enough to suggest he's not shaken it off, or better - likely to start/bench on Saturday :fingerscrossed:

Just got back home after freezing my balls off down at AG. Keogh had a run-out as well. Fairly uninspiring stuff tonight, to be honest. Woodman looked a class above everybody else on the pitch and JMW was useless.

Hey ho.

Brooker played for 45 mins and looked sharp replaced by JMW who was poor could not hold the Ball up at all ,finished 1-0 to City

Think its the same person who txted me.

So I guess SarahB only stayed for the first half too :fear:

JMW didn't look interested tonight....maybe he's feeling like he's been pushed out a bit.

In fairness he looked fresh and eager for a change against Crewe, his direct running at the defence set up the corner from which we scored.

Does Brooks look REMOTELY capable of finishing a game fit, if knackered Tom? Or is it a likely visit to the treatment room?

I heard that Brooker ran around alot but didnt look very fit. Had one chance but was taken off. Lots of trialists down including a keeper from Newcastle who did a good job.

Best thing was when walchie shouted at jmw after he'd lost the ball for the upteenth time "you going to keep the ball for us at all jennison" the man did not look at all interested tonight, defo had an attitude tonight.

We have two fn keepers plus our kids team one! WTF do we need another for??? Or do our mamager know summat we don't?? don't s'pose there were any STRIKERS there were there? Just a thought, bearing in mind the sick note crew we do have

there were two trialists from Newcastle cant remember who the other was think it was a striker. I would say we were looking for next season Bucks what with Weale being injured and Thomas only in on loan. There was a scout down there too apparently who has Welsh connections.

Johnson seems to like having 3 keepers at the club, as he is planning for 1 of them getting injured and therefore having a back up if needed. Fair enough in my eyes. Funnily enough you mention about strikers. There was a chance for Lee Kerr to have a trial. A young lad who currently plays for Whitley Bay and has recently lost his job for having a 2nd trial with Newcastle if reports are to be believed.

I'm glad someone saw his display the way I did.

Glad to see we're stiffling this young uns career then. He's a speedy winger/striker who shouldnt have to 'hold the ball up'. Play him left wing and give him a licence.

Well I'd like to think Strikers were top of the list, as I feel there is a big weakness there now. The ones we got are unreliable at the mo, and who's to say they will be any better a league up. The pace will be quicker, and if they cant hack this league for long, they definitely wont a step up. Or God forbid if we stay down, will they be any more reliable next season?? :noexpression:

As for keepers, unless Basso is offski, or Weale, I would have thought they two, plus the youngster would be all we need. shows the wisdom of signing FIT players I guess.

think his biggest problem is his attitude, plays a few first team games, put in a couple of decent performances followed by a number of very poor and average games and the lad thinks he's a superstar

I guess our academy lad, Ballard, isn't seen as up to it and the kid on loan from QPR, Thomas, may well be wanted back by them at season's end for all we know.

Basso has done a very good job, but Weale's availability record certainly isn't the best so far. This Newcastle kiddie may well have already been told he's being released by them, so no harm in trying to find our own decent young third keeper in a reserve game against Exeter, is there?

Brooker played the first half - looked good from where I was sat, but didn't get alot of service due to some poor passing. Why do these kids insist on trying the fancy one touch, cheeky passes, step overs etc............!!!

Keogh played well at the back - seemed to be running the show, even though Brooks had the armband.

Myrie-Williams - don't know why he bothered to turn up - body language said he wasn't at all interested in the game, like it was beneath him or something. Everytime he got tackled he was trying to claim a foul, no heart, no desire.

Woodman - did well, pushed forward etc. Lucky goal.

Debbage - trialist goalie - did well - make an excellent one-on-one diving save. But looked like he could do with losing a pound or two, or three............!!

Best player for City last night - Joel Parker - little lad wearing number 11 - ran his socks off, pacey, direct, ran at players, chased every ball, hard tackler.

Nice to see Gary Johnson & Steve Lansdown there as well.

Parker is "one to watch" in my opinion.....he always gives 100% for the full 90 mins, even when the result is all but certain.

If only JMW could play with the same determination.

The g/k who played for the reserves last night has just been released by plymouth argyle i'm not sure where the Newcastle bit comes from, unless it's because he was born in Cramlington which is in the north east.
