Guest Bemmyboy
Cardiff, Swansea and Wrexham ,that is, from playing in the English Leagues. Now from from the outset, I should state my prejudices. My first loyality is to Bristol, then England and then Europe. I am not British or a Royalist and I believe in an independent England, free from the Celtic fringe countries, who less face it, all hate us. I see no reason why Wales, with its own football association and national team, should have club sides playing in another country's (that is England's) league. If we are going to admit foreigners to play in our league, personally I would prefer it was Celtic and Rangers and Aberdeen, rather than the Taffy threesome. At least the Scots would bring some economic benefits to the FA with their fantastic stadia (compare Ninian park to Ibrox or the Liberty Stadium to Celtic Park) and extra TV revenue. Can anybody give me a good reason why Cardiff City should play in the English league, let alone the Uefa Cup. If they are so proud of being Welsh, let them play in the same league as TNS and Caersws etc. As a nation, we English are far too soft, cowed by political correctness, the Labour and Conservative Parties and the British State. God bless Alfred the Great, Oliver Cromwell and Bobby Moore-True English heroes to a man Kick the Welsh out of the English Football League is what I say. Less face it, would they be missed? Sound post there. All I stand at is: their continued expressed hatred for all things English can't be taken seriously due to their participation in our League. Problem is I doubt they have the nous in them to internalise this rather major floor in their charater. Comically, they do have value but FFS it's got silly now. Guest jimmy ateyo
here, ###### here kick um out, no place, they don't make our league(s) any better. getting rid of 3 of them will give another 3 english clubs league football also make um pay for prescriptions too.... spungers
si_aston
I've always been confused as to why they aren't a full part of the English FA. I think I'm right in saying their appeals against bans etc. go to the Welsh FA: can anyone explain why? If it was the case that they had no ties at all to the FAW and were 100% English league clubs then I wouldn't see a problem with it - after all, they've been a part of our leagues for as long as I can remember. As it is, I get a bit annoyed when I see, for example, that Hasselbaink's red card appeal (even if it was rejected) got sent to and deal with by the FAW. Why was it not the FA? The offence was committed in the English league against an English team. If someone could clear it all up that'd be cracking.

cheshire_red
fact. Not sure, whether they would be allowed in the Conference considering the above I'm not sure. Although Mertyr and Colwyn Bay do play in the English leagues, Colwyn had to play in Cheshire for ages to accomplish their continued membership. Great post, unfortunately you will find this will get brushed to the side as nothing more then sour grapes. Some excellent points and without doubt, 100% right. I can remember the outrage a couple of years back when Rangers and Celtic expressed an interest in joining the English leagues.......it never happened as the FA said they wouldnt allow it. Rightly so to, but why are the Welsh allowed in our league? As someone pointed out the other day, their presence in OUR league is costing 3 ENGLISH teams the chance of playing league football
cheshire_red
You know, I seem to remember Swansea played a game not long ago without one Welshman in their side. And their fans were still insulting the English oppo when most of their side were....... How many of the Cardiff side today was Welsh and how many were English, interesting

Add Newport to that list who play in the Blue Square South League which would provide them with a route back into the league via the conference. I hope they make it back. Theres nothing that unusual about teams playing in another Countries league e.g Derry or Berwick

I can't understand why wrexham cardiff swansea etc get to play in the english league but rangers and celtic can't?! Aslong as they keep playing in english leagues i will continue to call refer to them as english I ain't british, I was born in england, the st georges flag is the only flag that matters to me and I fly the ST GEORGES flag with pride ala cardiff yesterday, where i had to let a steward check my flag....? newboy
whilst I admit it's odd that the welsh teams play in an english league, this sounds just like a knee jerk reaction to a loss. And it makes us sound like petulant sore losers. Why not just suck it up like men and accept we lost on the day. We knew the rules re: Cardiff being in the league before the game. Now we're resorting to jingoistic nonsense because we lost.
CiderHider
Agree with most of what you say, but its a misconception that Celts only come from Ireland, Scotland, Wales and parts of Cornwall. I would imagine many City fans are of Celtic blood simply becuase the were born in England.

It's got nothing to do with the loss, i accept we lost, that doesn't matter, but why call it the english league if there is welsh teams in there? I'm surprised we haven't changed it to "british" as English seems to be dieing down a bit
