Dolman Block B
How nice to see the whole ground applauded the fellow when taken off with ten mins to go. He loved that moment. Clapped his own fans, then to all other stands, the same. Class moment, as a guy who will probably call it a day at the end of the season, was shown respect by our fans for what he has achieved in the game. Good luck to him

North Bristols Cider Army
After he was subbed, he still made it towards the young city fans in the williams and signed their programmes for them. Fair play to the bloke. As already mentioned a nice bloke. Well done Dion
freezer
Yeah that was a nice moment, Dion appreciated it well done boys and girls. There is enough tension and heated moments in football that it was nice to see a spontaneous outburst of sporting acceptance for his service to our great game. Drew Peacock
I remember him coming down as part of the Man U team playing in Chris Garland's testimonial(?) game. He played like a c**k. Obviously desparate to impress and went in for tackles in a way that would have had him booked & eventually sent off in a league game. Seemed to settle down a bit after that when he moved on. bucksred
Pity he didn't wait till all the other players went in, then come off, he would have had a massive cheer from the Atyeo. He went down as GJ did, so obviously GJ got the applause. forgot he slapped Savage the animal!
Guest
I though the tussle he was having with McCombe was also a highlight of the game at times, really 110% from both of them to win every ball. Nice to see him get a warm hand as for me he's the type of player this country doesn't produce many of his caliber anymore and he's pretty decent chap too. madmax
A great moment from a player who's career was nearly ended with a broken neck whilst at Villa. A great career coming to a great end in Europe's fourth biggest league, better then any other eh?!?!?!!? MM
Nogbad the Bad
He went down as GJ did, so obviously GJ got the applause. Wouldn't be surprised if going off together was a well meaning manoeuvre from GJ to get Dublin the maximum send off. Old pals from their Cambridge days, after all. Guest shire_redz
It's moments like that, that make the hairs stand up on the back of me neck. Close-fought game with both sides battling like ###### then a round of applause from 4 sides of the ground - clapping off a fine player. That made it an even better day all round in my opinion. simonwheeler
Totally agree that DD certainly deserved the send off Ashton Gate gave him. He plays the game in the right way and is totally honest. Also did you note that just before the kick off as GJ made his way to his "technical" area, Dion came over and they warmly embraced. NYTRAM
Also defused the situation when Cureton was leaving the field before the game. Jokingly protecting him and smiling with the Atyeo Seemed to work!

fct
I remember him breaking his neck on that ice pitch years ago. Great to see he made it back, not everyone would. He's an honest hard working player who deserves appreciation from any true fan of football. Would Robbie Savage get that? Hardly!! Dirty fouling headless chicken. Guest Beery
It was indeed strange. As soon as he I realised he was coming off I just started clapping spontaneosly and seemed that most around did as well. I remarked to bloke next to me that I was clapping as I was relieved he was coming off:-D

He is a class act, the bit with cuereton at the start, the battle with Mc combe amd being wound up by Basso, all great really glad Ashton Gate gave him a good send off. Anyone remember the line ups & scorers? ... all I remember about it is feeling gutted - but knowing I'd witnessed a footballing superstar in the making that night - the rest is history!!! Bristol Boy
Couldn't agree more and I BET that surprised a few people. I thought he looked very trim for a player of his age and I was glad to see the back of him. Hartson caused us loads of problems at Carrow Rd, although he was probably carrying about £20, Sorry, 20lbs

Guest rossjonesuk
The best player on the pitch yesterday IMO. Back defending and breaking down our attacks, whilst also having a monumental tussle with Jamie McCombe (Which McCombe came out on top of!!). I was clapping to see him go off cos he was a real threat!
