Guest Rowley Birkin
How long's his current contract at the Gate ? Steve Lansdown should double it, before some big club come knocking, as surely they will sooner or later. Knocking on the door of the Prem, a new ground in a couple of seasons, this is as good as it gets folks, and even if we were to go up and struggle next season, I wouldn't swap G.J. for anyone else, as he's got us where we are on peanuts compared to the rest, and double quick time. After season after season in the abyss, I still have to keep pinching myself to believe this is really happening, and it seems the script's been written for us. No matter what you think of players tactics etc, he has proved without all doubt you don't need to spend mega bucks, much as we'd all like it, to actually achieve success. We've got a team, not individuals. His whole ethos about creating a close knit dressing room, with players sticking together through thick and thin, shows his fantastic talent. Also he's an absolute media delight, always on the radio or box and comes over superb, loved by all, and an absolute fantastic ambassador for Bristol City F.C. It's also incredible to think G.J. hasn't won manager of the month yet this season, long may that remain the case ! Gary, you cheeky cockney chappy, we love you !
