Gutted for anyone missing the Preston game considering how vital it could be...

But..

Is this not just a case of people jumping on the bandwagon?

Does anyone on here not have a ST as they refuse to pay the money, or cant sit where they want, or are sick of how the club treat them...but now demand to have tickets for Preston?

Not having a go at anyone persoanally and obviously situation may be different for exiles although it feels like the play-off final situation. Nowhere to be seen all season then suddenly 30,000 people want tickets..

People bemoaned the price of ST's this year. Well they didnt sell out of them. This game could well be priceless..

That point of view doesn't make much sense to me.

The game was always going to sell out, no question.

The club should be giving fans who've watched us all season a fair chance of getting tickets over the bandwagon jumpers, and they're not doing so by allowing individuals to buy dozens in person whilst the phones are jammed and exiles who attend regularly can't get hold of them.

Why on earth allow each person to buy four? Ludicrous decision in every way.

Your post, in general, makes a valid point. I`m not sure why the club decided to allow ST holders the option to buy 4 extra tickets. The interesting thing will be to see how many take up the offer. It seems to me the club have created a panic buying situation when there was really no need. I just feel sorry for the exiles that will possbily have great difficulty in getting their tickets.

What i don`t want to see is spare tickets being touted, that really gets my goat.

personally, I haven't looked really looked at the ticket allocations or stubs thing as me and pretty much everyone else I go with are ST holder, however from what I've seen

4 tickets per season ticket holder? why? what's the point? where's the need? 1 ticket maybe, but with equal eligibility as people with Hull stubs,

Hull stubs......perfectly fair, however one ticket per stub is surely all that it's eligible for?

after that ST & Supporters club members and other supporter groups, should be next on the list.

then general sale.

if stubs are required for the game, then people should just have to bring them on collection of tickets, which they can do on the day of the game.

but agree, there does seem to be a number of people that haven't been most of the season and have been more than happy to say it on here for whatever reasons, now the same people are complaining that they can't get tickets.......personally....never mind and enjoy the queues for gen sale

No offence taken. I'm sure there are people who fit the profile you suggest, but here is my situation...

I had a season ticket for four seasons in League One. I live in Norfolk and it was a lot of money for the number of games I could attend, given I also coach football on Saturdays, so I had to juggle the two in order to get to Bristol in time. I flew from Norwich to Bristol a few times, as this allowed me to coach in the mornings and get to Ashton Gate for 2.30pm, but they stopped those flights, so it meant a 500 mile round trip, which is quite tiring. I also have two kids at home who expect to see me occasionally.

The price increase this season meant I could no longer justify the cost for 8-10 games per season, so I didn't renew. No gripe with the increase, it was just too much for me, given the number of games I can get to.

So, this season I have paid on the day on the few occasions I have managed to get down to Bristol and I've been to as many away games as times will allow.

In previous seasons, I have been on the terraces at Chesterfield. I have been rained on in York, I've been depressed in Bradford, Rotherham, Burnley and Huddersfield. I've sung along in Peterborough, Stockport, Brentford, Notts County and Grimsby.

I didn't need to queue for tickets. I didn't need to be an associate member of the red hand gang or live within walking distance of Ashton Gate and be able to take 3 hours off to stand in a line. We just turned up, paid and went in.

Despite all of the above, I don't expect priority for tickets this season, because I am just another punter. What I do expect is a fair chance to buy a ticket without having to ask someone else if they'll rack up a huge phonebill or stand in a queue for me.

Only Bristol City could think it was a good idea to reduce the number of ways by which one can buy a ticket for a high demand game.

Fair enough. I have no gripe with you or any other but I just thought I'd make a comment as it will apply to some people.

Personally, I'd have expected a ST to get entry for one person alone. Having one shouldnt IMO give priority to someones friends etc.

That said, how could the club reward those loyal in the past?

I don't expect reward for past loyalty. I expect to be given a chance to buy a ticket, as I always have been.

I don't expect to be relying on someone else being good enough to get one for me.

I agree with your point about season ticket holders being allowed to bu ymore tickets. It makes absolutely no sense.

Well, the only sense it makes is that it allows the club to shift the tickets quickly to a small number of people without having to cope with various streams of enquiry. It's laziness on the club's behalf, as they know it will be a sell out, so they are just looking for the fastest way to get the tickets shifted without a second thought to the logistics at the buyer's end.

Edson if you want a voucher mate get in touch if it helps

That's very kind, thank you.

Fortunately, someone has already got me one, but it doesn't detract from the point that this is a farcical system.

Thanks again.

Sorry BH, but personal circumstances, like Edson has posted, effect us all in differing ways and we can't all get to EVERY single game - we go as often as WE can.

My peronsal situation has changed since christmas, and now next season, REGARDLESS of which division we are in I will for the first time in my life be able to AFFORD a season ticket without considering "do I put food on the table for my family or do I go and watch BCFC" - a no-brainer .

However, I agree the 4 tickets per voucher is ABSOLUTELY ridiculous! amd it is SERIOUSLY making me reconsider my position regarding the use of my BCFC Barclaycard credit card in MAY(?)

I would have said those with stubs from say Plymouth, Watford or any other home game should get priority over friends of season ticket holders. Or even just those on the club's database. Doing it the way they have the club haven't rewarded the loyalty of ST holders, who already had tickets, they've just shafted a load of less regular fans, but fans none the less. Its set a dangerous precedent for what they might do in the playoffs.

Spot on.

Although in semi-fairness to city, they have given us plenty of warning that the Norwich stubs will be used for play-off matches.

Yep, utter shambles and scandalous that ST holders have the chance to buy extra tickets for all and sundry. I've followed City through thick and thin and most of that time I've lived in London. I've also stood on rainy terraces on a Tuesday night in places like Oldham etc, and hey one of our most important games in recent history and blow me down I can't get a ticket unless I'm prepared to travel a 300 mile round trip, spending money on a train ticket and taking a day from work - really quite ######ed off to tell you the honest truth.

Where do we draw the line though people?

For example - From having a season ticket for successive seasons recently, to decades of the occasional pisser of a game at Chesterfield - who - if either - deserves a ticket for Preston?

Where should the priority be placed?

I don't think the club can win, but at the same they could have done alot more to help others.

So how many ST holders bought extra tickets and for whom and who did they deny going to the match?

I mean it's a bit galling to have some johnny come lately arrive for their first match of the season being the most important one just because they are mates of a ST holder...

The database is there at the club - they confirmed to me that they know which matches I went to, how match I paid and by what method. It isn't rocket science to device a scheme to allow those who have attended the most games to get priority. With the right planning they could have said:

35 days away from the match - all those with a ST and have attended more than 9 -12 matches have 3 days to buy 1 ticket.

32 days away from the match - all those with a ST and have attended more than 6 matches have 3 days to buy 1 ticket.

29 days - as above with 3 matches under the belt.

25 days personal callers and telephone ticket office open to allow each person 2 tickets and no more - documented and it's done.

15 days - buy as many as you want (as per usual) - if any tickets are left.

The priority groupings of supporters make a mockery of the prioritising of tickets too - how many are in this grouping -

season ticket holder with Voucher S - 10,000

Supporters Club member - I don't know how many,

Supporters Trust member - again I don't know the number,

City Foundation member - 1,800,

City Redz member - ????

Senior Reds member - ????

All these grouping will exceed the available tickets if they buy 1 ticket each and all in my opinion have a far better right to a ticket than a ticket stub from an arbitrary home match.

What also needs to be investigated is how much it costs to buy into the priority groupings :

Supporters Club member - £5

Supporters Trust member - £12

City Foundation member - £114

City Redz member - £10

Senior Reds member - ???

It's a farce - the club need to sort out these prioritisation and number of tickets that you are allowed to buy

I've got an ST but haven't been told these extra 4 tickets are mandatory. Most of my friends who regularly go are ST holders too so there will be a couple of glory hunters, so say, but not some massive influx of randoms knocking on my door. The game could be massive but could be a non event so who knows. I agree with Edson in respect of the ease of this system for this club but what is wrong with that. In summary, where there is a will there's a way so if it means that much to you you'll know someone or some way of getting one as poor old Edson has already found (not having a go Ed but you're a perfect example!!)

I really cant get me head round allowing FOUR tickets per ST holder meself? Maybe someone can explain this. what betting ebay will have a load for sale on there soon.

Well I know season ticket holders who are making a nice fat profit with the additional tickets they bought. Some even took pre orders !!!!
