Andy082005
With the road closures on the way to Southampton, can anyone recommend the best way to go to get to Saturdays game?
Guest iWurzel
Hi Andy My Dad is taking the M4 towards Reading and dropping down to pick up the M3 from there. Should only add on about 30 mins and the drive should be easier as it's mainly motorway.

Cider Queen
There are HUGE problems on the A36 just outside of BATH (at Limpley Stoke) with the Road being closed and apparently LONG diversions. I would advise fans to avoid this route. It would interesting to see which route the coaches go and I know they normally head to the south coast via Bath, Salisbury etc. I'm going to do the M4 route and park in the away park and ride. mart
M4 to junction 13 (Newbury). A34 then A3. Much quicker

Back of the net
From the centre of Bristol, it is quicker to go M4 to newbury and then A34. you can do it in just over 1.5 hours. It looks longer on a map but the roads are far quicker. Going via Bath and Salisbury is a very frustrating journey!
fat_aj999
I recommend nobody takes the A36, Drove to Bristol from warminster yesterday, which usually takes no more than 45 mins, was stuck in traffic for 2 hours, nose to tail all the way, id steer clear of the bath area full stop! took the M4 back and was fine until i got off at bath then the trouble started all over again. See you saturday! Up the City!

Up the City! does anyone know the exact part of the a36 which is closed i would always cut through midford, hinton charterhouse to join the a36 closer to warminster (rather than go right into bath)- hopefully this should be ok anyone know ? Redminster
does anyone know the exact part of the a36 which is closed i would always cut through midford, hinton charterhouse to join the a36 closer to warminster (rather than go right into bath)- hopefully this should be ok anyone know ? I'd consider the following: Google maps route It is almost as direct as the A36 via Bath (and only slightly) longer, and avoids the A36 nightmare at Limpley Stoke by going down the A37 as far as the turning towards Radstock and Frome, and then joining the A36 at Warminster. I would avoid midford and hinton chaterhouse, thats the way i went yesterday, its a nightmare pretty much all the way up till chapmanslade near warminster, like redminster said A37 by-passes all the road works, after warminster its pretty clear sailing, or avoid it all together and do the m4 then m3 as suggested earlier.... kevinmabbuttshair
M4 to junction 13 (Newbury). A34 then A3. Much quicker Correct, this is the only way to travel to Southampton by road, motorway and dual carriage way all the way there 110 miles and about 20 min quicker than the other way without the road works
