Never to the dark side
okay I know I don't have a ticket for the game, but last time we had a beam back v Millwall there were approx 2,000 city fans in attendance we all paid 10 pounds each so the amount generated was 20,000 pounds So can some one supply a detailed break down of the costs of why the beam back will not make any money and for whom? we8gas
I was wondering kind of the same only I was thinking that maybe us fans deserve to have the beamback even if the club lose a bit of money, Especially when some clubs supply free coach and entry to some games, that must cost them a fortune! Never mind, radio Bristol it is then!

I don't think the demand will be the same as milwall. There was a possibililty of promotion against milwall - this time there is not. I probabaly would'nt have gone to a beamback anyways, because i would saved my tenner and listened to it on the radio. Alot of people would think the same as me, i think. Guest bernie from barrow gurney
I don't know the costs, but £20,000 could easily eaten up by: - Syndication costs of the broadcast - Screening facilities - Staff needed to maintain health and safety requirements, stewards, caterers, ticket booths etc etc etc - Cleaners pre and post match - Cancelling any event that may have been booked in there for the same day (?) - Extra insurance, heating and power - Profit required to make the effort worthwhile Financ(h)ial stuff like that

I know as many people that havent got tickets that would like them, as those with tickets. I seriously believe we would have taken 6-8,000 if Southampton had made the tickets available. Instead, they will have 6-8,000 empty seats.
Guest Eamer
For £10 I wouldn't have gone to be honest. I'm a Student so that's nearly the full price of a ticket to the actual game. I would've for £5 though...

I think though that the popularity of this match is more to do with the "new" stadium effect, rather than the opposition.... similar to the reason we (it seemed) took a larger following to Leicester and Coventry. I just don't think there would have been as much demand for the screening tickets as there would have been for, say, the Cardiff match where it would have been about the whole thing - i.e. limited tickets, local derby, bubble match etc.

At most its £16, in most places its £13, which like Eamer said is almost how much the beamback would have cost

Its £13 for students, so before trying to put someone down for the pure hell of it, maybe you should try some lessons.
