I cannot believe that some people would want to swap there tickets for another part of the ground oh wait did say that i wanted to earlier. Doh

All jokes aside if it wasnt for my son i would go in the EE every week given the chance why do you think there was pressure from the fans to open it. Maybe some of the fans never had the chance or werent old enough to experience it first time round.

Or maybe people think it has a bad reputation for trouble. All i can tell you is the that the Ateyo seems quieter than usual cos all the fans that remeber the EE moved from there.

I remeber going down on tues nights in the EE it was the only place to sit it always rocked. Then in later years i would never sit anywhere apart from the ateyo. Now i suppose i will sit mostly in the dolman only because i have a young child.

If he likes it in that end though will go back in there would much rather be there.

Maybe i will in years to come rather sit in the williams but i don't see it i wanna shout when I'm at a game and sing get behind them.

Bring back standing room only that's what i would like to see. When i think back sometimes of standing in the EE some nights were so cold if you did'nt jump and sing you freeze your knackers off. :coat:

werent old enough to experience it first time round.

Thats the reason for me, followed by not wanting to watch a game from any other part of the ground which in my opinion has poor atmosphere (not a look at the east end its amazing, just my view). I can understand why people do want to sit in other stands and i don't have a problem with it, I'm just happy the club is letting people who do not want that do there own thing. Its all about choice.

A number of reasons.

1) Not all fans like the loud, singing, constant standing (i love it personally but know people who's thing that ain't!)

2) People cautious about trouble (you will get this anywhere though)

3) Not old enough to remember the first time (my first EE experience was H'Pool in the playoff semi-final when Roberts scored the 90th minute winner!)

4) Restricted view

5) Restricted view

6) Restricted view

7) Restricted view

8) Restricted view

Almost everyone I've spoken to about this says "the acoustics are great but I don't like them bloody gurt pillars!)

I know it's the same in the Williams stand but there are large parts of the Williams stand where this isn't an issue I think.

I have a ST in the EE and after a while you just get used to the pillars and now I don't even notice they are there. You just have to choose the right place to stand so your view don't get obstructed much.

Saw us go up to the top flight from the E.E, cant even remember who it was against, but remember the pitch and the A.Dicks super team in the Williams after; fully intend to see this team/squad do the same in a few weeks time from the same place.

As for trouble nah I`d take my mother in there no qualms and have taken me boys in there from a young age.(you can find trouble anywhere if you are looking for it)

So as a reply to your post someone does want to go in there, many in fact; that said each to his/her own choice and respect to that; in the end its about choice.

I have spent many hundreds of hours of my life in there and hope to do a few more yet :drunk2::city:

Fair enough i'm one of the ones posting to swap a seat in the east end. This is purely cause for the lad coming with me. He's a nervy one and reading other posts, get there early go to the front, well guess noone thought of that so we'll all sit on each others laps! If we can't change his mo will most likely say he ain't going so i'll get a few mates in and have a giggle instead all day. Like few other posts i read i too started in the EE when my bro took me some 26 years ago, funny enough pretty sure that was Preston. Only 75p to get in springs to mind. Anyhoo, point is don't mind sitting there but just doing a favour for a friend to get her lad to a game and don't really want to see him dissappointed if he isn't allowed.

On a slightly seperate note, does anyone know how the season ticket sales in the EE are going? When it was announced the consensus was there was no chance tha any of the 1,000 released wuld get to go on general sale, is that still the case? Next Friday I think is the deadline, and chance of me getting 2 on Sat. then?

'Why does no-one want to sit in the EE?'

I can only state my own opinon and that is that its a crap view with crap facilities.

Its a shame that those who like the atmosphere in there missed out when the EE was entirely for home fans only.I spent years in there but I realise that those days are gone and can't be relived - not for me anyway. It could never be as fantastic as it once was.

Nowadays I prefer to watch the football with a decent view - hence by Dolman Stand ST.

The only memory I have of being in the East End was I think against Cambridge, believe it was a 1-1 draw and Steve Jones scored. Some of those details might be wrong as I can't remember all too well.

I always used to stand by the loos in the right hand corner, smetimes had to take a box with me to stand on, often remember getting carried our, with my feet not touching the floor all the way up that lane outside - esp after beating Liverpool with Chris Garland's goal ... largest crownd sine the 40's i think on that night. Dolly beware ... despite being so close to those loos the crush was so much there were plenty of 'peeing incidents' as i recall...

I had to sit in EE in the West Brom game, I suppose you still get to still the game.I can see why fans love it there due to the noise and getting to stand up and sitting where you like. Just I would rather have the the view in Dolman.
