wtf is going on,still top but god knows how.have we bottled it?have some of the more underperforming players realised that if we go up they will be replaced and hence the lack of effort, last 4 or 5 games we have been abysmal even against norwich we were terrible but got away with it.anyone have any ideas why?

ps before the handwringing happy clappers start I'm just looking for answers.

No mistake that is a diabolical result, could have been 4-0.

They even had Jason Euell on the left wing for christ sake.

Gary shouldnt have been done by Nigel Pearson but he has.

Sad to say thats auto gone. Goal difference down to 0.

PASSION? GJ lost us this game to his team selections, Skuse, Noble, and Murray. A handful of games between them! Keeping the decent players on the bench did us no good. Should have played two up front from the start and took the game to them!

We won last week with these players in our XI, if GJ had dropped them and we'd lost I expect you'd have been on here asking why he didn't keep a winning team.

For sure but we all know what happens there...

Not when the pressure won't be on us this time around!

In League One, we would probably never win them, but as underdogs in The Championship, I really do believe that we could finally win them, if that's the route we end up taking, by the end of the season...

Have to agree. I wasn't there today so I may be told that I have got it wrong when people return, but after the Norwich game I came on here and said that Murray, (and to some extent Noble in that position) was not up to pace.

Why have they both started? The fact that both came off at HT is pretty telling. I wonder if GJ has a policy that he plays a winning team the following week if injuries allow? Either way, we need to start with our stongest side next weekend, and get behind the boys from the start.

COME ON YOU REDS. PLEASE. :fingerscrossed:

For Playoffs, I'm pretty sure it will be!

Not good, our mentality will see the play offs as failure now, which it isint at all, but to Hull, Ipswich and whoever else is pushing for the top 6 they will be mucho motivated and have the mental advantage before a ball has been kicked.

Play offs are exciting though, GJ just needs to get their confidence up, i expect for most players this is the highlight of their careers to date, we'll see who has the balls to step up to the plate and make the last 4 games count.

Not a case of happy-clapping, but what a ridiculous suggestion that our players are deliberately under-performing so that we won't go up. One thing professional sportsmen don't lack is self-belief, and all of those in and around the 16 will be thinking they can contribute in the prem.

I'm gutted too, but there's still a tasty 12 points to play for, which might just see us through, if we can win them all, with the Stoke game being by far, what could be the most important game of the lot!

We need to start going back to the old "Attack, Attack, Attack! Attack!! Attack!!!" tactic...

If we do that, then we will start to fire in some much needed goals! :bruce_h4h:

Whatever criticism there is of our players lack of effort is not one that sticks. May just be that pressure has just forzen some of them. It certainly has me. :(

Disappointing the lads couldn't get going today. Thre was a great opportunity to pull 4 points clear due to the chasing pack not playing.

However, as for the result / performance we all sometimes have a convenient memory. Whilst we all revelled in last week's late win, the truth is Norwich could have easily won by 3 clear goals. It has been 6 or 7 games since we last played like a top side . that takes us back to Feb.

The club has and is having a wonderful season, expectations are now running high, there is still a great chance of promotion, we just need a resurgence of the passion, Elliot's return to form and a reinstatement of the good luck we've enjoyed for most of the season

Lets get behind the lads and Gj and push home in the last 4 matches

Whilst disappointed lets just put it down to a bad day at the office - We all have them lads?

We need to continue to BELIEVE.

Yes its bloody disappointing BUT we still have had a magnificent season and GJ is still the best manager in the championship.

BELIEVE :worship2:

How we continue to believe when we have one win in the last 7 games!!!!! This is piss poor performance. I want them to get auto as much as anyone but look at our results of late. The guys were lucky last week, could easily have been 3 points for Norwich.............

No doubt I'll be shot down for this!!!

I'm staying at my mates in Southampton so I've got to be one of the first on here who's been to the game.

It really was flipping terrible.

Game was lost from the first whistle with those selections.

Murray, Noble and Skuse and yet again one up front.

I can't recall more than one chance in the first half. It was like watching a training session of attack v defence.

We had no "out" for the defending. The ball was just coming straight back.

Second half was better, strange how we go 4-4-2 and play with two strikers that we have more chances eh????

Also, against long ball teams McCombe is ok (because I still regard him as a good league 1 defender) but against sides with players that attack through running at you (West Brom, QPR and today) it became embarrassing at times. Carey bailed him out time after time. Fontaine is the better partner.

All in all, it really was awful and we can thank Adriano Basso it wasn't 4-0.

i hate that formation, get back to 4-4-2 Elliot and sproule back in brooks up front with dele and lets attack wolves next week cause lets face it with there strikers they are likely to score so we'll need 2.

"where's the Passion Gone?" you ask?

Where is your passion gone? If I were a player and I came on this forum and read any of the threads after a loss I think my passion would be gone too!

In my opinion a fan supports thier team through the good and the bad! Bottom line: this season we technically could have been fighting relegation and when we're top of the league and lose to a team who are fighting relegation and are not a bad team at all so many people complain!

If we end up 7th and miss play offs I'll still be happy with this season as GJ (who our "fans" are saying made the wrong decisions) put us in the top teams of the Championship, a better place than we have been since I was born!

Now please stop with the asking where the passion is and stop saying it was GJ's fault! GJ and the players are the reason we are here! Yes we spur them on when we are in the stands but if you really really want to support your club then give them credit for what they have acheived and not what they could acheive. I'm not saying anyone should settle for 2nd best, 3rd best or 4th best etc but putting anyone down with 4 games left to go does not help at all!!

Now COME ON CITY!!! let's prove we won't lay down and die! Let's prove we aren't what the pundits claim we are and lets cheer our team on no matter what and get into the Premier League!!!

This division is still there for us to win.

WBA have to play Wolves and Watford

Watford have to play WBA and Crystal Palace

Stoke have Us and Crystal Palace plus derby's against Leicester/Coventry

Hull have Ipswich and Crystal Palace

Nothing should be taken for granted anything can still happen...A win next week changes everything again

Cmon Reds we can still do this

I believe.

I believe in pink elephants.

...I believe that "pink elephants" could indeed be the answer we're all looking for!

But if one of them ended up in our starting line-up for the next game, where do you think it'd be best to field it? :whistle2:

Still believe. Always believe.

After the Millwall loss last season they were all jumping ship and whining about the play offs. After Hartlepool, christ as far back as Hereford in the Freight Rover trophy we get a smack on the nose and suddenly its all over.

Remember Ipswich? You should do it was this season after all and we got a bloody good hiding. All over then was it?

As a wise man once wrote (alright it was me and I'm bloody proud of it) 'you can wound us but by CHRIST you'd better make sure we are dead before you celebrate.'

Game on!

Understandable reaction, i guess, to a poor result.

GJ will take some flak but he`s a victim of his own success.

My hat goes off to him and the team for what they`ve achieved this season already. Problem is they`ve raised the expectation levels of many who may have lost sight of the fact that this is, essentially, a very good Lge 1 team or an ok CCC side. GJ and his backroom staff are whats made the difference. They have worked hard to make up for what the squad lacks in flair and individual talent, and yes it does lack those qualities.

I`m as red as can be but i`m not blind to the fact that this team is not as good as our league posn indicates.

What i don`t want to see is individuals getting on GJs` back and the teams when the season has already been a huge success. We all want the club to be successful and see them in the Prem and there`s still a chance that could happen this season.

Have faith and belief by all means.......just don`t be blinded by it.

Get behind the team the best you can and above all try and enjoy it but never accuse them of giving less than 100%.

Hit the nail right on the head there, "no out ball", each time we managed to win the ball we lost possession by punting it high up the pitch. We need pass the ball, get our wingers out on the wing and play two up front.

Prior to the game Johnson said the players needed to be bold, well it's about time he was bold as well and started playing two up front with proper wingers, and not wide men who play narrow.

Aggggghhhh, total nightmare today, embarassing from all angles, but I'm sure this all stems from the crap team the manager and team put out.

I can understand that but people coming on here when we're in the best position we've been in for atleast 30 years and saying the manager did it wrong and saying how they would have done it really pisses me off because fans arent managers and can't do the managers job. Take Tinnion for example, the biggest City fan there was and he got his dream job and look what happened. The City fans didn't get results and so many turned on a man who gave us his best all the damn time.

Sorry i guess all the negativity is just starting to piss me off when we have nothing to moan about and alot left to play for.
