94th Minute
I know its going to be a post thats going to be either slated or ignored, but honestly I think we're going to blow it, and I've thought it for a few weeks now. Its only teams around us slippping up thats allowing us to keep the belief that theres any chance that we can go up; our form hasn't shown it. Last 7 games 6 points; if we were playing good teams, and we were fighting relegation, fine this would be alright form, but it isn't we're sitting top of the league (when the other teams play we won't anymore), these results aren't accecptable. I know, I know, that we're still 4 games away from the end of the season, if we win them all we're on 82 points...HAPPY CLAPPY, we can still go up, its still in our hands (I don't know if it technically is, but some of the top teams play eachother still, we play stoke; I'd imagine 4 wins in 4 sends us up) but is there honestly anyone on this board who thinks that after our proformance against plymouth and norwich (and others) we have any chance of beating wolves, let alone stoke? On 70 points after 44, I'd suspect anyone who claims to believe we're still going up of being a liar! Especially given our form at that point would be 3 points from 6 games. Don't get me wrong; I want to see us go up as much as anyone else, nothing could make me happier than running on the pitch come May 4th, celebrating promotion to the premier league...but I'm starting to come to terms with the fact this is almost certainly not happening. There must be someone out there with some logical reason to believe again for another week, to have some optimism at 3pm on Saturday that we really are on the edge of breaking our duck, that we really are about to start a real promotion push, and please please please keep away the one responses such as: "As Basso says 'Always Believe'!" "Chill out man, its only football" because yes it is, but it means so much more to me than that. I've got a beard now, and its staying till I think theres no chance of us going up...now I've grown quite fond of this over the past few weeks; and its staying till the wolves game, but anything but a win there and its gone...please don't let it go city
Guest MaloneFM
City for EVER? Are you sure? But seriously folks. Always believe. Even in relegation dogfights. Even against Norwich last weeek when it was looking like a miserable draw. You never ever really know until the final whistle or the sums go against you, AFTER the final whistle. Go into every game believing or support Manchester United who go into every game expecting. I STILL believe

I STILL believe Yep for ever, I don't believe in any poin I said that I would stop supporting if they failed to go up. Also I didn't say that I expected us to win week in week out, I just thought that playing a team at the bottom of the division, whos fans have no belief in the getting a result; maybe just maybe we could expect a bit more than a 2-0 loss, in which we seemed to be lucky to get away with at that! I understand the concept of believing, but it would be nice to some reason to believe in it, some logical reason to say that I STILL BELIEVE. Don't get me wrong, I really do want us to go up, I think we're assured of the playoffs at worse...but why do you believe we're going up? Thats what I was really trying to get at, not a thread for people to show what good fans they are because they believe, but WHY; theres got to be a reason and rational in everything afterall isn't there? Guest MaloneFM
Good question. Why do I think we are going up? Simple answer. I don't know we ain't yet. The phrase happy clapper has already been used once today. If thats the case then clap clap clap! On promotion last season most of the people your uncle spoke to said 'just keep us up and then we'll have a go the season after'. Watch the Championship on ITV tomorrow. Not for the bloody awful display but for the titles at the start. We are not there. Its all QPR and Wolves and oh look! Charlton. We are still top and have been several times and no one expected it. Not even the telly. I very much doubt if Mr Johnson will be saying to them all on monday 'never mind chaps, it's just a game'. I really don't think he used those words at half time either. This is not the only chance we will get this season. And its not over (unlike some who are facing a relegation dogfight and couldn't stick one past Hartlepool and they badly need the points) until the last game of the season the way its going. Game on. Fair point, I guess there really is no reason to not believe in it, mathimatically it is all still possible, and sure as anything Gary's going to give them a good taste of reality; I've always had faith in him to turn around a teams fortunes after the hand grenade incident; I guess with the premership so close the pressures getting to me too, can't believe what its got to be like for the players. And of course it would be lovely to piss off all the brilliantly established Championship teams!
Guest MaloneFM
GOOD MAN EVA! Hopefully with a name like that you are a wench...chin up. Keep marching on. There are people ready and willing to pess on the chips and they are the ones that having nothing to play for except avoiding relegation. I have no wish to give the small minded idiots something to cling to. We are still top. Its a fact.
