Guest MaloneFM
I have called you here, the finest minds at the finest team in the finest city to deal with, not a crisis, an anomaly. Despite what magic Johnson says I think the pressure is on and its getting to a few. Now, its time to hand over to the largest dugout in football. Against Wolves. What would YOU do? Much as we all love Scott Murray. It ain't happening. So he is back in the reserves. Along with Trundle. Noble has had more than one stinker. Brooker and Sproule are the way forward. Any other ideas? 4-4-2 from the start? Come on you never know who reads all this stuff.

mart
Yes 4-4-2 from the start... and everyone in the gate chanting.. WE BELIEVE, WE BELIEVE, WE BELIEVE. Show the players and GJ that we the fans/supporters/ciderheads believe that THEY can do it. If we don't Believe, how can they? Show your belief by singing the new Ashton gate hymn... I BELIEVE. I will step down now and stop preaching.

My slight concern Rog is that the pressure might be showing on Mr Johnson more than the players, today's team selection(?), 4-4-2 is a spanking idea with Elliot back in and Wilson instead of Sproule. I've got some other ideas but they might be best left to that other forum you used to frequent

Crikey, I always thought Orr's career was only saved because he stopped playing in midfield.

Guest rossjonesuk
Very surprised with todays team choice. Murray and Noble obviously didn't perform last week and if we're being honest Norwich outplayed us for major parts of the game... so to stick with that same line-up was a strange decision and has back-fired. That same team has again been outplayed so lets see Brooker and Adebola starting up front, Sproule back in for Murray, and hope that Elliot and Johnson make it back soon to our midfield. Basso Orr Carey McCombe Mcallister Sproule Carle (Johnson) Skuse (Elliot) McIndoe Brooker Adebola
GrahamC
As someone has posted elsewhere the realistic truth is that this season we are overachieving big time, as we have a squad that isn't on paper anywhere near as strong as our competitors. What would I do? Keep things pretty similar to the first 42 games, there is a reason we've won most of our games by the odd goal, and 4-4-1-1 is probably our most effective option, let's try to keep it tight, hopefully get in front and then hold on. At the back when McCombe plays people say he's not good enough on the deck, when Fontaine does we supposedly lack a first ball centre half. I guess it depends how you think the opposition will play football, so against Wolves who keep it on the floor, I'd go with Fontaine. Right side of midfield is our biggest concern, personally I've seen enough of Sproule this last 8 months to prefer him from the bench, so I'd give Wilson another chance. Noble and Trundle? Sorry, I've seen very little in their games for us for many months and they wouldn't be anywhere near my 16. My side would be something like; Basso, Orr, Carey, Fontaine, McAllister, Wilson, Elliott or Skuse, Johnson, McIndoe, Carle, Adebola or Brooker. Subs would be from Sproule, Byfield, the 2 left out above, McCombe and Weale.
