Guest SUPER REDS
I feel we are being to cautious in the play at present we were playing the best football with Johnson and Ellloitt in midfield picking out the wide players, since Adebola has joined we have gone the direct route up to him mostly all the time, midfield hardly in the game,I think I heard Johnsons name twice today, the backs just seem to be targeting Adebola,we have to go for it now,to win three from four
Guest City-Fan-Jess
I don't think Adebola and Brooker is the answer your looking for though. In my opinion we seen for 45 minutes that didn't work today. There both similar in the way that they like to play high up the pitch. Neither of them like to drop back and help link up the play because it is not there style. I think we should play 4-4-2 but it has to be one or the other out of Brooker and Adebola. Not both. Ruups. Bristol Boy
The formation is irrelevant if the players don't turn up.
Bristol Boy
............BASSO............. ............CAREY.......MCCOMBE.....FONTAINE... WILSON.........ELLIOTT......JOHNSON.....CARLE.......MCALLISTER. .............BROOKER...ADEBOLA.......... SUBS WEALE MCINDOE BYFIELD SKUSE VASKO Left Out:Trundle, Sproule, Orr, Noble & Showunmi On Loan Russell, JMW, Keogh, Henderson, Betsy Wolves have pacey & clever strikers and going with two central defenders doesn't look a great idea. Our wingers don't offer crosses from the byeline or even enough from wide areas so why not strengthen midfield and tell Elliott & Carle to bomb on with LJ to take the set pieces and hold. With McCombe & Fontaine to mark and Carey to lock the door beghind them and bring the ball out of defence.McCombe adds threat from set pieces although Vasko could sweep with Carey & Fontaine marking. There's some impact on the bench if things get tight. We can't have another debacle like today-We need a performance and a result.
Guest AK47
I feel we are being to cautious in the play at present we were playing the best football with Johnson and Ellloitt in midfield picking out the wide players, since Adebola has joined we have gone the direct route up to him mostly all the time, midfield hardly in the game,I think I heard Johnsons name twice today, the backs just seem to be targeting Adebola,we have to go for it now,to win three from four This was always going to be a problem as soon as we bought in a lump like Adebola . Personally it was a signing that I was less than enthusiastic about as to me it was obvious that we would just start lumping the ball forward quickly, fine at times if you have the runners to get on the end of the flicks. On many occasions yesterday Adebola would win the ball in the air and it would just run harmlessley through to Wright in the Saints goal, he probably hasn't had such an easy afternoon for some time. Our downturn in form seems to me to have co-incided with the signing of I think the wrong forward. We were all clamouring for a signing in January and GJ has got this one badly wrong, he is (Adebola) certainly no better than what we already had at the club and hasn't improved the squad, our results since Jan would have been no worse than they have been, in fact we could have gone with some of the youth who did very well in this seasons FA Youth Cup. We are often quick on this board to dismiss the style of footbal that the likes of Stoke and Watford play but lets be honest we have been playing the same brand of hoofball since January at least and not as well as they play it either. I for one would rather have stuck with what we had, even if had meant mid table obscurity, playing a brand of football thats a bit more pleasing on the eye and giving some of the youth a chance and no I'm not Astonyate in disguise. The current team has raised expectations and I fear what promised so much is going to just fizzle out and leave us once again frustrated.Next season will be a much tougher task and I just hope that this time next year we are not in a differant type of battle at the other end as looking at it yesterday we won't have the balls for the fight. Still trying to belive but 4 must win games now, can anyone see it?
