Its Time For Players And Fans To Rally!

Well, its been quite a season, and to say that every City fan has been riding an emotional rollar coaster the last couple of weeks is an understatement. From the highs and lows of our day at Tinnion Park, to seeing us snatch a dramatic win against Norwich a week later then "that" day at St Mary's...we certainly have been through the mill avent we?

Ive certainly felt it, one minute your top of the World, the next youve had your guts ripped out. Coming back from Southampton, I struggled to think of one positive you can take from that game....until yesterday, it dawned on me.

The positive to take now is that that game, that performance, SHOULD release ALL the pressure that is on our players! All season people have doubted us, yet the togetherness between club and fans has been fantastic, they have fed off each other and I really believe that is what has got us to where we are now. The whole "shoving comments down peoples throats" and proving people wrong! Somewhere over the last few weeks though that has changed.....City fans have gone from loving the "under dog" tag to suddenly "expecting" promotion to drop on our lap, and with attitudes like that...comes pressure.

We have four games left....yes we may end up in the Play-offs, in fact I'm certain we will. However, if we keep putting pressure on the players like we have done the last few weeks, we will certainly blow it. Four games left, if the fans can just try (I know its hard what with nerves and that), but if the fans can just try to enjoy these last four games, like we did with all the games before Christmas....then maybe the players can start enjoying themselves again.

We all know a team with nothing to play for can be a dangerous thing, yes we have something to play for, but by releasing the pressure off the players, maybe, just maybe, it will help them in the last 4 games

Onwards and upwards I say :englandsmile4wf:

If

If you can keep your head when all about you

Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;

If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,

But make allowance for their doubting too;

If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,

Or, being lied about, don't deal in lies,

Or, being hated, don't give way to hating,

And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise;

If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;

If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;

If you can meet with triumph and disaster

And treat those two imposters just the same;

If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken

Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,

Or watch the things you gave your life to broken,

And stoop and build 'em up with wornout tools;

If you can make one heap of all your winnings

And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,

And lose, and start again at your beginnings

And never breath a word about your loss;

If you can force your heart and nerve and sin

To serve your turn long after they are gone,

And so hold on when there is nothing in you

Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on";

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,

Or walk with kings - nor lose the common touch;

If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;

If all men count with you, but none too much;

If you can fill the unforgiving minute

With sixty seconds' worth of distance run -

Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,

And - which is more - you'll be a Man my son!

NOW COME ON, ALL WHO SAIL THE GOOD SHIP BRISTOL CITY,,,,, STAND UP AND BE COUNTED!!!!

BUT IF WE FALL AT THE LAST, WE HAVE STILL HAD A GOOD SEASON...REMEMBER THAT!! BUT KEEP

FIGHTING TILL THE END

My point exactly CH! Let's not give up believing now or doubting our abilities. It's standing shoulder to shoulder time (again!).

6 points from the last 21 is all you need to know. even an average return on those 21 and we'd all be preparing for promotion.

It's all over for City as far as the top 2 is concerned lets just hope we can get enough points so we don't fall out of the play-off places.

I'm all for these uplifting 'lets pull together' type threads but I feel seriously let down after Saturday by the players and the manager and for once I think it's their turn to show us the fans that they haven't given up as thats how it appeared to me on Saturday.

Great thread, Lets hope the boys can get over last weeks performance and get it together on sat ( 4 cup finals to go) also I hope the fans forgive the players for last sat and EVERYONE gets behind the lads against Wolves. We all love this club and all want to be successful.

In Johnson we Trust

In Bristol City we BELIEVE :englandsmile4wf::winner_third_h4h:

It may - or may not - be the case that auto has gone now. Personally, I won't accept that until it's mathematically impossible - given Palace's win last night.

Let's also remember that teams that build up momentum at season close often do the best during playoffs. So, a rallying finale would help our chances.

I'm looking forward to Wolves and will be doing my best to get us over the line, from the East End.

Listen, I to felt let down with Saturday....but whats the point in dwelling on it now. The past is that...the past

These players are human beings, if we as fans let our heads drop and lose faith in them, they will very quickly lose faith in themselves. Just as you would if your boss and co-workers lost faith in you! Confidence is a fragile thing....if it goes, your finished. As is stands at the minute, our players and staff are on their hands and knees, its down to the fans to pick them up, dust them off, give them a pat on the pack and get them going again.

All this rubbish about them being "proffesional sportsman" is fine...money can buy the best equipment, the best coaches, the best facilities....but it cannot buy confidence!

Don't forget, it was Gary Johnson and his players who picked this club, and US the fans up off of our backsides when we were near the bottom of League One only 2 1/2 years ago.

Totally agree. Wounds have been licked!

Listened to the GJ interview yesterday and the result last nite and feel fresh optimism. If we can win on sat, I think we could get at leas a point at Sjoke. From there we would be right in the mix.

YEP... From champions to going up at wembley, it is not over yet and IF we don't make it then we have

bloody well stayed up and competed with not a great deal of championship experience in our squad and have

done fantastic, untill the maths rule us in or out, keep fighting for the prize, but i know COME WHAT MAY i will

be celebrating on a fantastic season, the boys have passed what i thought they would do from the first kick off.

Time to reflect on what we have done this season up to now as it's been superb, ok we have been rookies this season

and it will give us the experience we need if we are here in the championship next term, i think a few are posting as

the frustrated league one team of old that took 9 seasons to get out of, this is our first season in the championship,

enjoy it, get less tense and get behined the lads as they will sense fans frustrations and will make them nervous

as they could well come good yet...

whatever happens just enjoy!!
