Guest scumbag
hopefully.......though obviously in theory if Hull and West Brom win all 5 of their games, they are top 2. Much as I'd LOVE to believe it, still think it's going to go to the last day and WHO KNOWS, either way.......we need to turn our form around and NOW

Have to be big improvement then on our last 2 games, and lets hope he gets the selection right this time, cos it certainly didn't work against Norwich, but still can't understand why he went for the same team against Saints, we need a team selection that's going to give everyone a lift get the fans behind the team and send out a message to the rest of the division, 3-0 would be nice! Live in hope. After this weeks results we shouldn't need any more of a lift, agreed tem selection needs to be right and I think GJ probably knows now who will start Saturday. There have been many varied selections on here over the last few days but we have to trust the manager and his staff to get it right. We need to raise the roof and play our part from the off no matter which 11 start, it will be very tense but that mustn't translate to the pitch, lets all do our bit and roar the boys home
Robbored
Hmmm... I'm not convinced. 3 defeats in the last four games isn't exactly promotion form. The one win against Norwich was very, very fortunate. The nature of the defeat at St Mary's was so appauling that I left there feeling that a play-off place was about the best we could hope for (mind you, I would have taken that at the start of the season). I saw nothing in that performance, nor the previous three that gave me any hope whatsoever. The City wheels had come off big style. I can't see how Johnson can turn it around despite most of the results going our way mid-week. He has tinkered with the team in an effort to sharpen things up but without success so far. Maybe his lack of action in January window is now catching up with City. Who knows? Will the Wolves 'want it more that us' come Saturday? Thats apparently what happened at St Mary's. Lets hope that the City players don't freeze again and start lumping predictable balls up the line or up the middle. Surely the prospect of becoming a PL player is motivation enough? or maybe not. It certainly wasn't enough last saturday. Heres hoping for remarkable up turn in form...

Perhaps that's part of the problem, how many of these players are good enough and would be in the team if we were in the prem? and perhaps some of them know it, and all this talk of 30 million to spend can't help. Guest DanC
4 wins and we will be up. I can't see any team winning all there reaming games let alone us. What is vital is we get a result on sat. I know we are all on the edge of our seats but we need to be positive as positivity breeds success and that has been what it has been like for 75% of the season so far but at the moment that positivity from players and fans seems to be lacking and that is one of the factors to our recent poor form I feel. So on sat can everyone try and be positive and help the lads get a much needed 3 points. We all knew at the start of the season that our run in would be hard and that is proving to be the case. If we can win on sat and then go on to beat Stoke then that would mean we could be in the same position as last season where we would need 1 win out of 2 games to go up. Can you - based on the most recent performances see City winning the remaining 4 games? If you can then I'd like some of what you're on That said I'd be delighted to see them come out on Saturday, start at a high tempo and playing some decent football. An early City goal would be just perfect. But thats what I was hoping last week.....

One team from the top 5 will win 3 or 4 of their remaining 4 games. Wolves - a return to our attractive passing game and we blow them away 2-0. Stoke - totally f c u k all over Pulis and his excuse for a football team, another 2-0. SheffU - automatic promotion could be ours but we freeze in front of 7,000 ciderheads to come away with a 0-0 draw. Preston - think Rotherham last season. And I am being totally serious. We were top on merit, we will return there on merit. Simply because - and Ive seen most teams twice this season - the only better team than us are WBA, but for some reason they keep coming up with silly results. sunningdalered
I'd settle for a performance and well-deserved win on Sat. After that, I'd settle for a performance and well-deserved win at Stoke..and so on! It might be a cliche (not the arsenal full-back!), but it's still the truth (the Mighty Wah! c.1984). I have to agree with most of that, our form at the moment is shocking, 6 points from the last 21.......terrible form, plus those 3 points against norwich, were BARELY deserved. He's had to change the team around because the were not performing, but the players who have come in, have been equally as bad, right now I can't see us turning it around, I'm trying to be optimistic, but after the recent performances the kick up the backside that happened prior to Southampton didn't improve things at all. I've no idea what team will turn up on Saturday against Wolves, but if we play as we did against Southampton, it will be more than a 2-0 defeat. tin
Hull win their remaining five games, they get top two. FACT. They probably won't given the unpredicatble nature of this league but they are the form team and that's why they're getting my vote for the other automatic promotion spot. We're in dreadful form. Don't look like scoring and don't look like stringing more than a few passes together either. Unless that changes drastically then it's a jostle for positions in the play-off's for us. The game on Saturday will show us exactly how much the players want it. I don't doubt GJ or SL wants it but there's only so much they can do once the players get out on the pitch. If they freeze against Wolves like they did on the South Coast then quite frankly we've got no hope in hell for automatic promotion and similarly in the play-off's. Defining game of the season. Nogbad the Bad
Johnson has 2 things going for him - ability and luck. Don't doubt his ability but perhaps his luck ran out when City hit the woodwork 5 times between scoring at Charlton and our next goal in open play 4 games later at Cardiff. One team from the top 5 will win 3 or 4 of their remaining 4 games. Hull or West Brom more likely than us, unfortunately. Wolves - a return to our attractive passing game and we blow them away 2-0. Wolves are very much a jinx club for City and in confident, goalscoring form. Stoke - totally f c u k all over Pulis and his excuse for a football team, another 2-0. Would be nice and if we've already seen off Wolves and regained confidence, maybe SheffU - automatic promotion could be ours but we freeze in front of 7,000 ciderheads to come away with a 0-0 draw. If City freeze (again) at all in the next 4 games, then that's it. Preston - think Rotherham last season. If we've got the platform, yes, but Preston are a much trickier prospect then Rotherham were. And I am being totally serious. We were top on merit, we will return there on merit. Simply because - and Ive seen most teams twice this season - the only better team than us are WBA, but for some reason they keep coming up with silly results. There's belief and there's blind faith which ignores form and probabilities. Hull are clearly a better team than City at the moment and we need a convincing win against Wolves before we can start to say we are again currently one of the best teams. City's form is dire, we can barely score and confidence is low. My fear is that the team put such a monumental effort into the first 30 games that they have literally given their all already. Like everyone else who is "negative" on this thread I hope to be proved wrong by a convincing performance tomorrow by a resurgent City side which ressurects our season and belief so we can share your optimism for the following games. Guest Eddie
If we don't lose to Stoke then 79 points will secure promotion. Which means winning 3 out of 4(and not losing to Stoke) bery possible but we need to improve which means not playing the like of Noble, Skuse and Murray(decent league 1 players) for the remaining games! I've agreed with most of your posts I've read since joining this forum Tin, can't say I agree with this one though, mate. It's not a FACT that Hull will finish top two, I'd say one bad result, which could come on Saturday, could come against Watford, and they will be in the same position as every other team at the top. Form rarely lasts 12/13 games, especially when you're talking about poor form for a team at the top of the league. One good result could put us back on track. As for questioning how much the players want it, that's rubbish. Effort will always be 100%, and the people who put in the most effort are not necesarily the ones who cope with pressure the best, as I'm sure you know. Just as an aside: if City were to gain promotion, which fans do you think would derive the most enjoyment? The ones who moaned every time we lost, or said we cocked it up with 1 win in seven, or said the players didn't want it enough, the ones who left after 60 minutes WBA.... Or would it be the ones who stuck by Gary Johnson and the players throughout the season, SUPPORTED them when they needed it most, and didn't moan or criticise. Irishred
On the BBC predictor again and this time I decided I would be as negative as my heart would let me about City's prospects. I entered draws in each our next three games and a home win against Preston = 76 points. All the other teams have tough run ins as well so I tried to be as honest as I could with those results and remarkably we can still go up on just 76 points: WBA 79 Bristol City 76 Stoke 75 Hull 74 Wolves 74 Watford 73 The big factor here is Hull's form. I know it has been good of late but the two week break may not actually help them at this stage. They have some difficult games coming up: QPR at home, Barnsley away, Crystal Palace at home and Ipswich away on the last day. These are all dogfights - they will drop points. Its a crazy league! ALWAYS BELIEVE!
