What Would Be Worse?

It has been a great year for City and as the season's end approaches there is still a chance of promotion to the Premier League.

This time next season where would you rather be:

1) Top of the Championship with a better squad that requires a few tweaks to be able tohold its own in the Premier League?

or,

2) At the foot of the Premier League trying to beat Derby's points total?

For the £££ and the experience for all, a season of getting whipped in the Prem is better than being whipped on the road in this League as recently.

Personally I reckon we could win 2 or 3 home games in the PL, better than Derbys effort.

THing is with Deby they went up through the play offs and this leaves little time to prepare. I don't know jack about Derby but I know Pete Johnson would already have a list of targets should we go up that he has already scouted.

What are you banging on about?

If we don't go up this season then we will be lucky to get a mid-table finish next season.

This will be our best position for another 10 years.

When will people realise that this season is a 'One off' so I hope we get promoted.

Rant over

Oh dear, expect to be scolded over this post.

it's actually a tough one.

Short Term Finanical Income with some lovely days out next season, but with VERY small return in points.

or

Long Term gradual growth

Either way, at the end of the season, there is likely to be significant investment into the squad, IF we go up..........GREAT, we will enjoy next season, however if we don't go up, for me it's not the end of the world and hopefully we will rebuild over the close season and aim to improve on this season's position.

Financially, an absolute no brainer.

GJ is astute enoughn to strengthen along the way.

If it doesn't work out, nothing ventured nothing gained.

Premier league every time. I have a time machine...We will be promoted in second place and this time next year will miss out on going into Europe by only drawing at home to Spurs 0-0. This forum will be full of abuse about the club not being ambitious enough; Johnson still selecting his son and failing to strengthen in the January transfer window. Of course there will be another load of people sating things like...."but before the season started we would have settled for just staying in the Premier" while others will be writing: "That's true but this is our best chance to get into Europe for possibly the next 30 years and we could have signed Giggs on loan when Fergusson said he was surplus to requirments and he would have had the ability to have turned things around. That Ebanks-Blake we signed off Wolves was never worth the £3 million we paid." Other threads will include: "When are we actually going to start building the stadium" and "Gas to play at Forest Green next season after falling out with Cheltenham".....some things never change.
