Guest DanC
Due to the late kick off and lack of trains back I'm sure many that are going shall be driving up so where is the best place to park near the ground? I hear there is parking at the ground, How would one go about booking a space? Also what about pubs? I also hear there isn't that many near the ground so where is everyone likely to gather pre match? What time is everyone who is driving leaving Bristol? I'm thinking about 11ish. Is there any roadworks going on around the route to Stoke that we need to leave extra time for? Guest BunnySCFC
Aye up Folks, friendly Stokie here. Must admit, don't know if I'm looking forward to saturday or not, but I'll pop a few suggestions down for you - use them at your want/peril. Even for a low-profile game, The Brit can be a bit of a logistical 'mare for fans, both home and away. It's pretty much on the crossroads of the A500/A50 (around 1 mile off M6 J15) but hasn't really got much around it ie. pubs, cafes, housing etc. To be honest, if I was an away fan for this game I'd probably do 1 of the following: a- official coach, or b- stop off for a beer a bit away from the ground eg. Stone, which is a nice town just off J14, but even there, it's a bit of a Stoke stronghold. Near the ground is very much a drinking desert and not worth the risk to be honest. Let's face it, both sets of fans haven't got the best reps, and this game comes after Stoke fans have faced the wrath of the locals on our last 2 or 3 visits to AG. I can see trouble Saturday, unfortunately, with it being such a massive game. Decent fans will get a beer, but those who act the clown will find that SToke on a matchday is not the place to do so - unfortunate and regrettable, but sadly true. It's a very proud and parochial city and to be honest, all we ever hear is others rubbishing it. If you come on the train, you will be met by the police and probably taken to The Roebuck by the station. You will then be bussed up to the Brit (a good 30 min walk away). This is ok for all the Stone Island clowns, but if like me you probably don't want to be videod and told what to do, then it's not my idea of a footballing awayday. If you do come on train, keep yourself to yourself and you might escape this ecort. The station is 1/4 mile from the town (of Stoke) centre - DO NOT DRINK HERE! This area is staunchly Stoke and it is not advised to have a beer here at all. As for parking - the Michelin factory on Campbell Road has a bit of street parking near (although don't go on grass verges as it will cost you £60 at 5.20pm!). It's a 15 min walk and relatively safe. Park by the ground and add up to an hour on your journey home. I hope I've helped a bit - its a hard one to call as on the big matchdays its quite easy being in the wrong place at the wrong time at Stoke - sadly, but I'm sure the same can be said about AG if I think back to my previous visits? If it was me - I'd find a nice country pub about 3pm somewhere off the M6 - have a beer and then get parked up near the A500. Don't act the plum and you should be fine. Safe journey folks, but a miserable one back! Anyway, safe journey

4eveREDDy
Well said stokies, and i am sure our proper fans will heed your advice, unfortunately we seem to be attracting more than our fair share of idiots lately and i also fear there could be a lot of trouble, just hope i am wrong
Guest DanC
Thanks for the advice chaps. Thing is though City will always find a pub somewhere. City don't do dry away games. I have also heard many are going up as if it were still a 3 o clock kick off so they can have the extra drinking time.
Guest stokefanman
no where drink around our ground at all, it will be full of stoke fans in the power league, but if you do get in don't start your songs off in there, as there has been trouble before, you will be ok, as for parking you need book that from your ticket office, south car park pass you need its in the away pen. sunningdalered
Matter of interest - will the stewards let us stand during the game at Stoke? If so, it would be good if we could organise ourselves so that those of us who want to stand and make some noise can do so together without annoying the sitters. tin
We're taking the ciderbus to Newcastle-under-Lyme for a few pre-match beers. There's not much in Stoke drinking wise and even if there was I think it'd be wise to avoid it unless you want any bother. Not far from Stoke, few bars to watch the results roll in and probably no hint of trouble.

I wouldnt bother mate, wolves did that last season and there was hell up when they stopped off there, helicop was out 10mins after, your best bet is stopping off in stone, as the police will arrest anyone around here. cheshire_red
Tin - I know a pub that will happily accomodate well behaved fans and has a very well known (locally) City fan as a regular plus myself once in a while. PM me if you want and I'll give them a call tonight.
