Guest barley81
hello, I have a massive decision to make!! My old man has offered to buy me a season ticket, great!! But i play football regularly on saturdays and to a decent standard. Do i give up football to watch the city?? If we were in the prem, no shout about it, My head says no we won't make it, but my heart says yes. I've counted the time city have played at home on a saturday and it's 15 about 45% of my matches. Will i regret giving up football at 26? Can i have people opinions please?

dezgimed
Bear in mind that we will have 7/8 matches in this division on a weekday. And in the Prem, more so, plus a few on a Sunday prob.

The Humble Realist
Well if your dad buys the ticket then no worries! You could simply have it, then sell it off on occasions u don't go and play instead. I wudnt blame u for carrying on playing...or switch to sunday games
Guest Timmis DK
City = More important than woman and playing tbh Absolutely well said. Plenty of Prem games weekdays and sundays, even in the championship there'll be plenty of games that don't fall on a saturday. Keep playing man. Meh
I'm a good decade older than you and I regret giving up playing every time I go passed a sports field. Loads of city games to watch when your knees are shot and your stomach has expanded to the realms of pie-man. Catch City when you can but don't give up playing until you have too ! Will i regret giving up football at 26? Can i have people opinions please? I played up to age 35 at a fair standard and bought a season ticket at start of last season when I gave up so things have worked out very well ****il now...!) My advice is to play for as long as you can and catch the odd game whenever possible. No doubt most people on here will disagree with me though. You can watch til you're 90 but the same can't be said for playing !!
Guest barley81
We need your support just as much if we are in the Championship. I know and i go to every game i can, but i love playing and i love city. The letting the mate borrow(selling) the ticket is a good idea. Would it be easy to do with the new card system?? we8gas
I have been asked to play on Saturdays but I have been a season ticket holder for around 7-8 years now. I really enjoy the preparation on match days and having a few beers before and after watching City and really don't think I could ever play on a Saturday. I do play on Sunday mornings which after City, keeps me buzzing until my footballing weekend comes to an end at around 1330 Sunday afternoon. Sunday leagues aren't how they used to be and there are some really goods teams out there who want to play football and not kick people up in the air. Plus, Real Bristol are always on the look out for players. Why don't you come along for a training session and see what you think?
jambodinho
Keep playing mate. There will be plenty of opportunities midweek, sundays or if your footy gets called off to go and watch city. I have still managed to watch 15 city games this season and played all of my teams games that i have been fit for (i was out injured for a bit though). If you quit playing now whilst you are fit and able to play you will regret it when you are older. Plus you cant beat the banter on a saturday. You can become a season ticket holder for many a season once your playing days are over.
CiderEagle
Maybe take the ticket but keep playing as well ? as someone else said, theer will be loads of Sunday and Monday games, and a few international weekends. Sure your old man will be able to shift the ticket for the weeks you can't make it.
pdgifford64
As someone has already said. Keep playing while you still can. I went 18 yrs without my season ticket, partly through work, but mainly because i loved playing. It took me three attempts to hang up my boots !!! Take the ticket though.........its free ffs !!!!! Guest barley81
Thank you very much, I will probably get the ticket, hope we get to the prem so there will be fewer saturday matches! Sure if we don't get to the dream land, we won't lose that much money on missed matches!!

I totally agree, I'm 35 and regret giving up at a good standard to early. I came back after some years back to that level and couldn't get back the intensity level and extra yard of pace no matter how hard i trained, ended up doing in my knee and now cant play. Give up when you have to or it will come back and haunt you with regrets. See City whenever you can as one day they will be the closest you can come to playing, til then enjoy. Gaffer
Thank you very much, I will probably get the ticket, hope we get to the prem so there will be fewer saturday matches! Sure if we don't get to the dream land, we won't lose that much money on missed matches!! Definitely get the season ticket. These last few years have been incredible to be associated with the club. Plus, (if you pass the extensive trial) you can come and play for my team on a sunday!! Win Win! 4th in Bristol Sunday Prem, good enough standard to not be a waste of talent and you get to watch all the City matches! What could be better?!
