Season Ticket Sales?

A month of poor results see us now needing 2 points for a playoff place. Sadly, the fight for 2nd place does look to be beyond our reach, as we rely on other clubs failures and some massive improvement in form.

So, the club have sold nie on 10,000 season tickets for 2008/09, but my question is;

Just how many more will we sell, should it be another season in the CHAMPIONSHIP?

My feeling is around a 1000 more than this season. The club will drive hard to bring in new support, and fingers crossed it does. I should imagine around 80% of current season ticket holders have now renewed, with the rest seeing what this season,s outcome will be.

Comments please.

I think we will reach around 10k. Spoke to Jane on Friday and she said that 10k had been sold. So there will be a steady flow that purchase tickets before the 2nd May deadline and when we make signings in the summer. Still the cheapest way to watch city if you want to see ALL the home games!! and obviously the priority tickets for cup and play off games :)

You say reach around 10k, but yer friend says 10k sold already?

Surely Lisa that cant be right? I think City should aim for around the 12,000, how they bring the extra fans in, is a tough one.

One worry for me would how SL would view it should we not increase season tickets sales on the back of a cracking season?

I mean, new stadium, 10,000 season ticket holders, it don't just add up

Its more if true than the start of this season.

Cardiff have less season ticket holders and are moving stadium, Stoke had less when they moved and i am sure there will be a lot more similar examples and there is normally a increase although not always sustained in season ticket sales at a new stadium. Its going to come down to a lot more than season ticket sales.

Agree, just get the feeling SL would like to see at least a 10% increase on this season, and rightly so.

Arny, I have got one for next season, if I could afford it I would get tickets for the 5 kids and the wife! That would get it up to the 10% increase (almost)!

Why rightly so?

But that would actually be an increase of 40% in two seasons which might have been achievable in one if the season tickets had been more practically priced.

The saying is "success breads success". No one can say City have,nt had a succsessful season, and i would hope quite a few of those non season ticket holders who have followed this season, will buy one.

Ive got load of mates who pay match to match, but would they if we were bottom 4? I doubt it very much. But while we had our time at the top, or top 3, down there every game.

I know you got to lay out a few bob, but its a long long season and well worth it in the long run.

It ain't tough Arn. Just open more seats to the East End. I'd be massively in favour of giving us the whole EE back and shoving 1,500 away fans from block's B to D in the Atyeo or next to us in the Williams.

It's no surprise it's sold out in there as a lot of frustrated singers like myself in the Atyeo have been driven in there by the lack of atmosphere elsewhere. If they want to draw in new fans or entice old fans back then that's the main way to do it IMHO.

You'd like to think so mucker but I doubt it very much. Some spin about police bills or something would inevitably crop up. Still, it's the only way of increasing capacity within the existing four stands as well as making the Gate more hostile to visiting teams. I know what I'd do... :whistle2:

Totally agree. Been to nearly every game this season paying on the day and have sat in various stands. Last two games decided to go in the east end, was immediately hooked and have got my season ticket in there for next season.

I'm sure they could sell plenty more season tickets by making more available in the east end.

If it was a case the club could put 3 or 4000 home season ticket holders in there, they would be stupid not to. Thing is i reckon 1500 at the most, so away following would still get half of it
