New Right Back...

I'd much prefer to see Brian Wilson being given a try at RB or RWB.

Bradley Orr's had a decent season however Wilson could add more consistency in distribution & crossing.

A right back who ball watches and can't tackle? I'd rather see Bradley given some competition for his place to be honest.

Just a few opinions on him....

"If this signing goes ahead, Charlton will morph from promotion candidates to Championship also-rans literally overnight.

Pardew is losing it."

"oh my god , please please let this happen !"

"Well this is a pleasant surprise. It certainly makes a change from clubs taking our best players. "

"He hasn't played anywhere near his best at Argyle for about 5 months...good luck to him, but good riddance too.

Shouldn't be too difficult to bring in someone of his level at RB, should it? "

"Still, he's better than any other fullback I've seen us have. Not saying he's amazing or anything...competent"

After being linked to Chalton in the Daily Mirror.

Guest always hoping

Why does City need to bring in another right back. Bradley's had a great season and is clearly delivering what the manager wants from RB. As such, He plays every match when available. (40+ already)

Wilson now provides the cover when needed, with Skuse and even Ribeiro offering further options as an absolute last resort.

Lets wait and see on who leaves and who GJ chooses to bring in.

... and what of James Wilson (19)? - on standby for a very good Wales U/21 squad (not to mention left back Christian Ribeiro who's already in it?)

You have to be joking? Orr's be found out this season in a big way. Yeah he's chipped in with some crucial goals but defensively and technically he's been short. If we're to kick on next season then right-back is one position that needs to be addressed.

Both J Wilson and Riberio are right footed ,Wilson,s future is most certanly as a centre Back as he is at least 6ft3in and Riberio is a Right Back both boys can play in both positions as they both have good pace and agility , having wached them both in the reserves this year i am sure there time will come if not at City then they will have to move on to get first team games, along with Artus these boys have been at the club for 10yrs plus and i am sure they are big city fans and would like nothing better than to play at AG

Surely your joking? Stoke will be Premier League next season and Brad was our man of the match in many peoples eyes against them. Everyone has bad games but he is one of the most important people in our team, especially for motivation and determination

I don't do jokes :noexpression: and I can't comment on him being MOTM at Stoke because I was too busy in the ground watching the game, not on TV. He's so important for motivation and determination that Sproule and Murray both hate playing with him.

I like the guy for what he's done for us over the last two years but the time has come to strenghten in that position - if we're to kick on.

I see what your saying but I think you may be under-rating him slightly. He has made mistakes on occasions and is often guilty of a few stray passes but overall I think he has done very well against some great wingers in this division.

And also (sorry to be picky) I was at stoke and especially in the 1st half he was the stand out player for me.

I quite agree. I'm bewildered that anyone could give a mom to Bradley for the Stoke game. Personally I think he's had an up-and-down season, sometimes he's looked up to the job. He does seem to have more lives than most other players though. I'm thinking of Vasko and Fontaine really who were dropped after a single error.

I'd like to see Ribeiro blooded, sometimes young players just need to play. I remember Carey being very raw as a young lad and he turned out alright.

I think Orr would benefit from SERIOUS competition for his place (so lets discount non-tackling, ball-watching Brian Wilson straight away). It would be nice to think that Ribiero will step up to the plate AND BE GIVEN A CHANCE TO DO SO next season. If not then we need to buy a right back who is up to first team standard. The more competition for places the better - and Bradley is one of a few players with little competition. He is one of the first names on the team sheet because there is NOBODY ELSE that GJ trusts to do the job on a regular basis.
