Guest paul_stoke
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Bristol-City-v-Prest...1QQcmdZViewItem I struggle understand some people. I see folks on here after tickets and then you get this clown performing an ILLEGAL act by selling a ticket on Ebay. Good luck in the playoffs lads, hope to see you in the prem
Squeak
If Ebay see that, they will pull it. It's against their regulations, probably because it's against the law.

CiderEagle
The seller is selling the ticket at a starting price of less than face value - what's the problem ?
atyeomatt
The seller is selling the ticket at a starting price of less than face value - what's the problem ? Problem is: 1. It's not alloud 2. It makes our fans look bad 3. Although it's below face value, some idiot could bid over for it, even though tickets are still available? I have a friend that works for e bay uk and he has confirmed that any ticket sold above face value is not on, and that it will probabally be removed. I have just bid £666 pounds on it. Any negative feedback on this will be removed by the moderators, so join in lads I would suggest elainezographou( 176) that you sell your ticket by spreading the word, or perhaps through this forum. It's not that hard, I have just sold two of my friend that they had to shift due to a wedding. Very sorry frelainezographou( 176)

atyeomatt
Nothing to do with the fact that somebody bid £10k and then emailed to say he wouldnt buy it I had the same message, in fairness I think that the motive was genuine. I also received an e mail saying that they wanted face value only:Dear atyeomatt: "no this is not a joke i bought this ticket for my wife who is now unable to go i have tried to sell it to friends and wanted to sell it only to get my money back. if people want to make high bids for it then its up to them. also why are you bidding if you are so against it. also you are just going to make someone pay more with your bidding. i never purchased this ticket to make money. I am a season ticket holder myself with my son and bought the extra ticket for my wife." It would have been best to include this information but I think that the seller knows that now. Anybody want their ticket? Face value only

As long as you put the face value of the ticket, my understanding is it is legal. Concert tickets go on sale on Ebay and if someone wishes to pay over the odds for it BIG DEAL!! Putting in phoney bids is a bit immature if you ask me when someone could have a genuine reason for selling. If you all have your own tickets, why give a toss!!! Say you buy a ticket for you and your mate, you then swap the ticket for money when you see your mate. Your by the letter of the law touting. If you all have your own tickets, why give a toss!!! some of you might not like this but Belfast is right - I simply could not get ticket to the Pistols (don't ask I am old and missed them when young) and bought mine off of ebay - I paid over face value (a little) and never thought about it at all - the option for me was not seeing them - selling a City ticket may surprise us but it is the same thing? SimplyRed
To clarify the situation here: It is perfectly legal to sell tickets on eBay, PROVIDING the contract you enter into with the original seller ALLOWS resale or transfer, and that you specify the face-value price of the ticket. Having said that, the resale of football tickets on eBay is expressly PROHIBITED by eBay, mainly for the above reason - see eBay Football Tickets Therefore, the listing was contrary to eBay policy and simply needed to be reported, rather than being juvenile and bidding it up out of all proportion.
