  1. More so when man under 50 is also wearing a collar and tie!
  2. If he goes to manage Man U there will be continuity, as he will still not pick Phil Foden, but will pick Harry McGuire!
  3. No. Go up the other end and snatch all 3 with a 95th minute winner.
  4. If this is "what's my line" then I'll guess that you're a High Court judge or a Member of Parliament.
  5. The headline number I've just read is that Villa posted a £120m loss for 22-23! They made a £300k profit the year before, but that was only after the sale of Grealish for £100m. Anyone else get the feeling that football at the top end ( I'm including the championship) is financial madness and becoming ( if it's not already) unsustainable, unless a club is owned by a nation state, and that we are not far away from a pretty big club going bust?
  6. The worry is that our current slump has coincided with teams at the bottom picking up form and results. Were both trends to continue for too long the worry then becomes that momentum becomes increasingly difficult to reverse.
  7. Thought this was going to be a thread suggesting that an afternoon supermarket shopping with the missus, is currently looking a better proposition than a home game at AG!
  8. Looking back to the 6-0 defeat by Cardiff at AG. It wasn't the end for GJ but was perhaps the beginning of the end. Just saying.
  9. The good thing about early kick offs on Saturday is that it gets bad news out of the war sooner The bad thing is there is more of the weekend to live with it.
  10. If that's Everton fans holding up the placards they should perhaps read " You know what you're doing, but I think it's unfair"
  11. How most fans view how ffp operates and penalties are worked out..... How clubs of clubs that fall foul of ffp ( and especially Everton's) view how it operates....
  12. "10 points was clearly excessive, vindictive, inconsistent". Try telling that to the clubs that were relegated but kept their financial house in order by complying with the same set of financial rules that Everton knowingly breached. I remain convinced that Everton chose to breach P&S to give them the best chance of avoiding relegation because the knock on of dropping into the championship with the debt on their new stadium would probably have bankrupted the club. Now it's all about how hard done by they are, poor supporters, everyone's out to get them. Everton fans and board.... The only glimmer of hope I can see in the Everton situation is that the PL have reduced this penalty in the knowledge that there's another hit coming right down the line! Fingers crossed!
  13. They had that with grey kit. They wore grey at Southampton and were getting battered in the first half and IIRC they came out in different kit for the second half. Post match Fergie said that players Found it difficult to pick out teammates because of the colour.
  14. Listened to Talksport briefly today and they were discussing that Torquay have gone into administration. The journalist they had on was talking about their owner, and he ( the journalist) commented that what fans want from an owner is that they leave the club in a better situation than it was when they took it on. Given all the negativity surrounding SL and recent events, allied to many fans apparently wanting SL to sell the club and make way for a new owner it got me thinking. If SL sold up tomorrow do you think that he would be leaving the club in a better situation than when he became the owner?
  15. Negativity and pessimism. We're Bristolians, they are in our DNA!
  16. I don't know, but rumours are that Manning is playing him up front alongside Wells at Wednesday!
  17. Much as we saw with Derby's situation, fans of clubs affected by sanctions for ffp/p&s breaches seem to think that they have a case based solely on "being hard done by", "it's not fair", "the impact on the club - relegation, risk of admin or worse" and of course " whataboutery". What those fans fail to understand is that had their clubs not broken the financial rules ( cheating - as it enabled them to gain an unfair advantage over other clubs in their division who did adhere to the rules), then it could well have resulted in the very same outcomes they argue that could/will result from ffp/p&s sanctions -certainly true in the case of Everton!
