Just going on what I heard from a source that has been fairly reliable in the past. SL was livid about Cheltenham and his days were numbered from there on in. Obviously that would never be the official line from the club.

    Wasn't Johnson's decision.
  3. Louis Carey

If we had people would have slagged it off as 'jobs for the boys'.

Sometimes a player just clicks at a club and everything goes right. We've had our share of that too. Doesn't all just work one way.

Every football club in the league is a 'business' and has been for a long long time. There's nothing remotely unique about us.
  6. Korey Smith

He was the worst player in a red shirt today and that was up against some pretty stiff competition!

I was calling for Johnson's head during the depths of the dismal run last year. IMO another season like the two before it is complete failure. So for me if I was Lansdown, if another relegation scrap is on the cards afer 10-15 games I would be holding my hands up and saying that I got it wrong and a change is needed. Would he do that though? Not sure. But would be ridiculous after 4 games when you're in the top half of the table.

Sack a manager after 4 games when you're two points off the playoffs We're not Leeds.

Yeah but that's the Championship isn't it. So unpredictable. It would be typical of both City and this league for us to struggle today and beat Villa (we can hope). They say ten games is normally a good barometer and if we're still mid table after ten I'll be happy. It's a results game and if we get sucked into another relegation scrap after 10-15 games then action will need to be taken.

This is my concern with LJ tbh. He's shown himself more than capable of delivering good performances under certain conditions, but we only ever seem to have the one way, the one idea. When we face an opposition that negate that idea we seem to freeze and not be able to adapt. We were crying out for more bodies in midfield today to try and win those battles.

That's my point though, every team in this league will have days when they're shit. I regularly speak to fans of every other club in the league. I know Sunderland fans who say they were shit, Villa fans who say they were shit, Derby fans who say they were shit.. I just think people tend to massively overreact to a very small portion of the season as a whole. It'd be typical City - and typical Championship - for us to struggle today and then beat Villa. Ten games or so and then you can probably start making reasonably solid insights into how the season will go. But all teams in the league are still trying to find their feet. Ten sides in the league have better our points return so far. If we can still say the same after 46 games I'll be chuffed

Maybe Watford didn't sell all that was allocated? Surely Bmuff could fill the ground with season tickets alone?
  13. I'll take 4th bottom now

Not denying that, I said as much on the matchday thread. But every team in this league is going to have games like that today.

Isn't that pretty much their entire capacity? Did Watford sell their allocation?
  15. The Millwall Debacle

Seen him singled out for criticism multiple times. I often wonder what game other people watch as he was the only attacking player looking to drive into space and make something happen. Completely agree about Smith @Nibor - how he survived the 90 I'll never know. Awful from minute one.
