  1. Absolutely. Want knocking him at all, a goal is a goal, but I wouldn't describe him as a born and bred finisher in the way that Owen was.
  2. Funnily enough I'd say 'finishing' in the traditional sense is one of his real weaknesses. Fantastic, instinctive goal scorer - in the 'always in the right place to toe poke or shin one in' sense. But improving his actual finishing when he has time and a decision to make would add even more millions to his value!
  3. Whole thing is shady as hell. Be interesting to see if any of the 'lucky' winners are known to JT.
  4. Ironically everything LJs detractors cite as his failings and then they clamour for Moyes who has to be one of the most uninspiring and unsuccessful managers in recent history
  5. Pestilence and disease?
  6. Can't see Chelsea minding him getting another 20+ and adding more £££ on. 20 with us or 20 with Newcastle this year wouldn't make a bit of difference to Chelsea. In fact I think people have noted it more because it's with us. If he were to be made available to a championship club I think we'd stand as good a chance as any. It's clear we have made an impression on him. But I think both he and Chelsea will feel he could give the Prem a shot with someone.
  7. Genuinely embarrassing. Applaud him off by all means but a guard of honour during a match? Jesus Christ. Never mind the choreographed barf inducing 26th minute thing. Take him off on 89 if you want an ovation from the ground but it's a football match FFS not a pantomime.
  8. Wasn't Gerrard all set to join Chelsea before some local gang offered to relieve him of his kneecaps if he did?
  9. RIP Sorry for your loss Red Homer
  10. No
  11. I simply said he was more successful than our last manager st this level, which wasn't difficult.
  12. Still, he's been more successful than our last manager at this level so hopefully that'll continue.
  13. Why do you think that? We had two distinct spells of top six form this season which proves the manager and players have the ability to perform well enough to achieve that. The question is whether that consistency can be found and this time around not interrupted by the worst run in footballing history! People make it sound like we spent all season being whipping boys which is far from the truth.
  14. Looking a this league next season there's probably 20 teams who think they have a realistic shot at top 6.
  15. Obviously it's Johnson's fault JB hasnt kicked on. I mean it was Johnson who sold a much better left back to accommodate Joe, wasn't it. No?
