  1. Does 700,000 euros not get you a couple of tractors?
  2. We invest in the squad every single year. I know people like to pretend like LJ was given a war chest, the likes of which we've never seen before, but that's bollocks.
  3. More lazy crap journalism. If it's not the Premier League then the 'big' press have zero clue.
  4. I agree with the highlighted bit but to me in this league a 7/10 performance every week trumps the occasional 10/10 when the rest are 5s and everyone else has to work so much harder to accommodate it on the offchance that the 10 is going to come along on any given day. Football is so different to a normal workplace, for better and worse, and we're not the sort of club that can keep a very expensive player hanging around for a year or so in the hope that these issues may be resolved, whatever they are. I'm only reading of these off the pitch issues in recent times, is there anything behind them or is it a bit of an OTIB myth? Genuine question, I may well have missed something!
  5. SHTANLEY IN
  6. Just like anything that tries to predict the championship. One of the most unpredictable leagues in world football.
  7. Generally speaking, of course not. But in the case of LJ and Tomlin I can't imagine for a minute that LJ didnt want him but signed him because he was popular with fans. He gets constant stick on Twitter over Magnusson and Engvall but it doesn't make him play them. He's shown on more than one occasion that he's happy to make unpopular decisions that he thinks are best for the team. Back to Tomlin - it's clear for all to see that he looked a completely different player on loan to how he has this season. Quite naive to think that he wasn't on his very best behaviour when looking for a new long term deal somewhere and a big pay day after it being made clear he wasn't wanted at Bournemouth - it was widely reported that we got around the wage 'problem' by paying him an enormous signing bonus. Add to that the social media whoring (thanks for everything Bristol, look at all these amazing goals I scored for Peterborough...etc. etc.) and I'm just getting very bored with the whole thing. It was an expensive failure but they happen. If it was me then provided we could find someone to pay his wages I'd be looking to get rid. We looked a better team on multiple occasions without him in it.
  8. My memory may be failing but going back a few years didn't Norwich get thumped by Colchester by about 6 or 7 on the opening day, then go on and win the league?
  9. There are many things to deservedly use as a stick to beat LJ with, but the signing of Tomlin isn't one of them. 99% of the fans wanted it and 99% of other managers would have signed him after what he did here on loan.
  10. As would 99.99% of managers after that loan spell. Its almost as if Tomlin was being super well behaved and working extra hard to earn a massive signing on fee. But he wouldn't do that....would he?
  11. Birmingham City, Brentford BUT Barnsley
  12. Sorry lads but Wotsits are to Cheetos what a patio chair in a tent is to the Lansdown Stand.
  13. Using such simple logic it could be argued that because we smashed Huddersfield, that means our dressing room is a pinnacle of harmony. I suspect the truth is somewhere in the middle. Even a good side can capitulate massively on occasion. Let alone us!
  14. Hear, hear. Very well said.
  15. He seems to have a constant need to be told how amazing he is. Here's an idea - get your head down, stop thinking you're better than everyone else and bloody well earn it like you did when you were on loan and angling for a nice big signing on fee. Can see his career going exactly the way of JET. Will end up back in the lower leagues as a luxury player who never fulfilled half of what he was technically capable of. Love to be proved wrong but don't think it'll be here. If Johnson wants him out in favour of better team players there's no objection from me.
