Jody Morris ?

Could be a decent signing & has experience.

He was very unlucky at Chelski when he was there as they had a settled central midfield pairing at the time but never let them down when he got his chance.

Welcome to Bristol Jody, get yer trumpet out. ;)

Terrible signing. Utterly dreadful footballer. Wasn't very good in his prime, recently been playing for a mid table Scottish side.

That's ignoring his other various off field issues in the past,

Poor mans Joey Barton.

Very disappointed firstly in McInnes signing the player, but also the club allowing the signing of sch an unsavoury character,

Doubt it

Why when he has leadership qualities and experience. The guy looks after himself, and is tough. Why would he not get the arm band?If he stays in the team? And I can see him doing that.He would never have turned down European football,to be a squad man down there.

Because what respect do the players have for someone who will have just joined the squad? He may get it later in the season for one off games or so if Fontaine, Carey, Skuse etc arn't involved in the game, but he has numerous candidates ahead of him for the arm band.

Wiki.....

Morris has had a bad image over several legal and ethical issues. Chronologically, these include allegations that: he was one of a group of Chelsea players who drunkenly abused American tourists at Heathrow Airport within hours of the 9/11 attacks on New York City and the Pentagon;[17] that he was involved in a drunken brawl (in 2002);[18] that he was involved in a sexual assault (in 2003).[19][20] He was also arrested for drunk-driving on 1 November 2006, after driving the wrong way down a one-way street. Morris, who had one previous conviction for drunk-driving, was disqualified from driving for four years, given 80 hours community service and a two-year suspended jail sentence.[21]

I'm sorry, but not the sort I want at the gate.

Fontaine and Scuse aren't natural leaders IMO and, whilst Carey is, he may not play too many next season so Del could see Morris as the type to take the Captaincy and lead by example.

Believe me , the legs have been getting heavier , he can still retain posession well but creativity is non existant and often when a pass through to the strikers is on he prefers a square ball . will sit in front of back 4 , holding role . Think he'll get found out but hope he does ok .

These players have worn the armband purely because they are local, long serving, or both.

None of them are leaders and worthy of being Captain in that sense.

Morris is clearly the sort of inspirational character who can lead by example and get maximum effort out of his team mates.

We've desperately lacked this type of 'nasty', win at all costs player for many years so it would be a big surprise if he isn't the Captain.

Is Morris going to play every game though? Don't know how many games a season he got thorugh at St Johnstone or even if he could keep up with a championship schedule, wouldn't like to think our captain would be someone who would barely feature in 75% of matches when fully fit. And if Skuse can replicate the form he was in at the end of last season he could easily lead by example on the pitch as a player. I still think Fontaine will be captain next season personally though with Skuse as vice captain and Carey as some sort of club captain off the pitch.

Ternative view would be he's sorted himself out - nothing there for 6 years. Let's give him a chance eh?
