42nite
Due to Lower Dolman re-development, this was the first time I've sat up in the Dolman for a long time. I was literally amazed at the streams of early leavers! Surely this must unsettle the players? It's also pretty crap for everybody else who want to see the end of the match. I knew it was bad....But not that bad!
Cider Queen
To be honest it was better than normal.. on 87 mins people were still in there seats... and that my friend is unusual!
Bris Red
If i was a neutral watching yesterday i would of been quite bemused at all the early leavers to be honest. As others have said when the re-development is done you'll either have to fo 0k right off through one of the vomitory exits and watch the game under the stand or stay untill the end, wont look half as stupid on TV then! JM91
I wouldnt worry about it, once the redevelopment is done there will be 6 (I believe?) exits and therefore make leaving the ground easier. I've not left erly before mysef but having sat at the back of the D block a few times it can oftentake a good 10-15 minutes to get out with our current 2 exits. with more exits I dont see this being an issue. Turbored
Happens at most grounds just that its more noticeable at the gate due to being only one way out
Roadrunner
I was watching on the telly and could not believe them leaving early at half time and full time, with the game so closely balanced.
madmax
I left on 90 minutes yesterday due to me and my son needing a wee. After we went we ran back out to watch the rest at the bottom of the stand. But by the looks of it those that normally do this, stewards are moving people on. Robiness
I can never get my head round why people leave early . This can sometimes be the most crucial part of the game ,and you have paid a lot of well earnt money to save on a few minutes in a traffic jam !! CyderInACan
Blah blah blah. Most stay and watch the last knockings at the bottom. I wouldn't worry.

Red Exile
And to be fair to those leaving early - and I'm not often fair to them - on TV you could still see people stuck at the back and trying to leave the Dolman long after the final whistle. Aizoon
One of the better moments in the Dolman was when the Gas in the EE chanted "Part-time supporters" at the early leavers and the pissed-off Dolmanites stood up and applauded them. ChippenhamRed
I've been sitting in the Dolman my whole life and always drive. I park 10-15 minutes from the ground and have never experienced the mythical traffic "nightmare" that people speak of. A certain volume of traffic, yes, but not necessarily all related to the football and certainly not enough to make me leave early. In the thread below, I asked someone to specify exactly where this "nightmare" occurs...no one replied and it was the last post on the thread. I think that says it all. http://www.otib.co.uk/index.php?/topic/166491-cotterill-says-stay-until-the-end/page-
Sir Colby-Tit
Anyone that has a bus or train to catch, or other time-sensitive commitments has no choice but to leave early from the Dullmoan as it takes so bleedin' long to get out. I'm out of seat every game at 89 mins and watch the last few mins at pitchside.

RedM
I'm sure I've mentioned on here that last season I was outside Arsenal's ground when they were home playing Sunderland. (We were away getting thrashed by Sheff Utd). I think Arsenal were 3-0 up t HT. About 10 mins into the second half the doors opened and a steady stream of fans came out, another 10 mins or so there were more and more fans coming out. 20 minutes from the end there were masses, every doorway you looked was heaving with fans leaving. I had to actually check that it wasnt an early kick off and the final whistle had gone, it hadn't. I actually took a video on my phone of the people leaving I was so shocked. People were walking fast and then breaking into a run to get away. It wasnt just people heading for the tube either, they were heading off in all directions. The people who left in the 2nd half missed Arsenal scoring a 4th and Sunderland pulling a goal back. Maybe at 3-0 up they were confident of the win but to this day I am totally dumbstruck why they would leave like this after paying so much money. For the record we hung around for 10 mins after the final whistle, walked to the tube and after about 20 mins of queuing got away no problem. So Dolman leavers have nothing on Arsenal fans! Yep, I have an end of row seat so I don't have to squeeze past people. I did this for a couple of seasons, but the Dolman rows are so narrow that I had to wear a condom. Aizoon
The one I remember was against Halifax. Those who left a minute early thought we'd won 3-2. In fact we won 4-3. They equalised and we scored straight from the KO. Boy, was I glad I didn't leave early.

I sit in the Dolman, stay until the end and park about 15 minutes away. Never does it take me long to exit the Dolman or get back to my car. The traffic is a little busy but anything but a nightmare. I go back towards temple meads and this apparent 'nightmare' traffic rubbish is a total myth. I am fed up of all the early leavers and can't wait for the redevelopment to be honest. I mentioned it in a few threads yesterday and it put a bit of a negative on what was a good atmosphere. I just don't understand it. Why come to the game if a fag, pie or pint is more important 10 minutes before HT? Also 1-0 down with over 5 minutes left to play yet so many are rushing off, blocking my view and plenty others. Of course some have a very good reason but I can't see why it's so hard to stay and support the team until the ******* end???? I wonder how many of yesterday's day trippers will be there in the coming weeks? Watch the bloody game!! After all isn't that the main reason we all go for? Taylor10
It's not the day trippers, it's the regulars That's true. Plenty of regulars do it. There is a family/group of around 5-6 that sit a few rows down from me and I kid you not, they turn up 10 minutes after kick off, leave 5-10mins before half time and leave 5-10 mins before full time. Seriously, what is the bloody point!?
Betty Swallocks
Don't get all this, it's a free world and people can do what they like. If they want to leave early to get back to their car, that's their choice. If they want to leave early to grab a pint, that's their choice. If they want to leave early for some other excuse, that's their choice. They've paid there money, If they don't want to get their whole moneys worth that's up to them. Yesterday I was in the Dolman, stayed in my seat until the final whistle and was back in Chippenham within 65 minutes - and that included a 15 minute walk across to Cumberland Basin. The traffic is a complete myth. Even if it wasn't, I'd love to know what these people do with the extra 15 minutes they supposedly gain from leaving early, that makes missing the thing they've paid to see so worthwhile. Their lives must be a lot more exciting than mine. I realise there will be a few exceptions where people need to leave early for work or other reasons, but without doubt they are the minority.
