On a serious note, anyone know when the last time an FA cup final was held without a member of the Royal Family present?  Gotta be a while.

1650 when Oliver Cromwell presented it. King Charles I was still head of the FA but because it had been separated from the rest of his body he was in no fit state to attend.

Been done to death I know, but ‘Soccer’ (or ‘saaaacker’ as you call it) was first used to describe Association Football in England in 1863 - it is not an ‘Americanism’ and we only stopped calling it Soccer here when the Yanks started calling it Soccer - it’s very much an English term....

I agree , soccer was always used in this country to differentiate between Associated football and Rugby Football.

At the moment I’m getting ready to go to football and I’m watching Sky “Soccer Saturday “!

At least Harry won't have to far to go to see the closing stages of the FA Cup

One TV studio expert summed it up well.

As it's the FA Cup Final, it'll probably kick off at something like 5.30, so won't clash with the Royal Wedding.
