  1. And now the game is over; still none of the moaning levels we'd have on OTIB; https://www.motforum.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=46446&start=20 We looked like 11 strangers playing for the first 30 minutes. No closing down of any meaningful intent, they had so much space to gain confidence on the ball. I was astounded how easily they played around us. Just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse it somehow did. Need to recover from this quickly. I’m fairly resigned to staying in the Champs next season, we won’t go up playing like this and if we do, we will be taken apart by Prem teams, we won’t be able to afford the marquee players we need. Sadly. Just hope we can hang on to Rutter, Joseph and Firpo(!) and rebuild a solid side as well drilled as QPR were.
  2. Their forum is quite muted on the subject at half time; https://www.motforum.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=46435&start=280 Not the performance they need tonight. Will have to be a better second half. We're like an Italian WW2 tank,1 forward gear 4 reverse

    VAR

Just seen on SSN the Swedish FA have rejected VAR as "The majority of clubs and their fans do not want VAR".
  4. Cardiff, Coventry, PNE & Middlesbrough all lose tomorrow whilst City win would see City 8th with one game to go. We can all dream can't we. After all, a unique and unlikely set of results can occur; just ask Rovers about the 2013-14 season.
  5. Announced yesterday that from the 25/26 season, the Welsh premier League will play all games on Friday nights. Dunno why and have they considered the financial implications? If Barry Town are away to say, Rhyl, that's a five hour journey. Clubs will have to decide whether to travel through the early hours of the Saturday, or have a night in a hotel.
  6. Idle curiosity; IF Solihull make it to the EFL,who will they regard as nearest city rivals; Brum or Villa? Walsall would be their local derby
  7. What voice do fans have these days? Fans are expected to just sit ine neat rows, applaud politely at the end and before leaving spend lots of cash on club merchandise.
  8. I wish that was City you were describing.
  9. In Nat Lge N, I see Glos City are relegated. Which league will they play in next season please? A few years ago Lowestoft made it to Nat Lge S, but when they were relegated a year or two later they were placed in a different one to which they had won promotion from.
  10. City used to play friendlies (H&A) against Bristol's twins Hannover and Bordeaux. When McInnes took over we had a pre season tour of Scotland. Then again as a reward for we fans, as it's July why not Las Palmas away?
  11. The stadium is primarily an athletics stadium, capacity 11,800. The stadium, which has a bowl-like effect, has a playing surface surrounded by an international standard athletics track. The Tyne & Wear Main Stand on the west side is a large all seated covered stand, which has a capacity of 3,227. Opposite the Tyne & Wear Stand is the 4,044 capacity East Stand, which is another large sized bank of seating that is now under cover.
  12. So we raise an OTIB team and park the bus so as to help the team.
  13. On SSN they reported Barnsley fans booed Neil C after their 3-2 away defeat on Saturday.
  14. Nat League play offs announced; Tue 23 Solihull v Gateshead cancelled. (See the post from Ronnie S) Wed 24 Altrincham v Halifax Sat 27 the two semi finals; Barnet v Solihull and Bromley v Wednesday's winners. Sun 5 May the final.
  15. Just imagine; 46 games in a season and City have 23 undeserved and dull 1-0 home wins coupled with 23 dull and boring 0-0 away draws. It would not be enjoyable entertainment, BUT City would have 92 points and a goal difference of +23.

    VAR

I say keep VAR, BUT change it's use to that of DRS in cricket. The Ref can use it if he's not sure of what just happened and both teams would be allowed to review two of the Ref's decisions. For the rest of the game the VAR official just sits there and minds his / her own business.
  17. Elsewhere in Britain, TNS won the Welsh League again, 33 pts ahead of the second placed team. Larne are currently 3pts clear at the top of the Irish League. TNS and Larne won their leagues last season as well. For the Champions League these teams start playing qualifiers in July and if they get through all four qualifiers, they get to play a team which was 4th in a larger country.
  18. I expected the Coventry Manager to remember the precedent which has been set; grab a ball boy and swing him round.
  19. Is it my imagination, or are the commentators biased? Several statements suggesting so including this: Manchester United need to concentrate now on winning in extra time.
  20. For their final game of the season, 700 Hartlepool fans made the nearly 600 mile round trip to Dorking Wanderers yesterday and witnessed a 4-3 win. All 700, men, women, children and Jeff Stelling, went dressed as Blues Brothers.
  21. Highland League decided on goal diff; Pos P W D L GF GA GD P Buckie Thistle FC 1 34 26 3 5 98 34 64 81 Brechin City FC 2 34 26 3 5 90 28 62 81 East Kilbride walked away with the Lowland League 12 points clear of the 2nd placed team. The winners of Buckie v East Kilbride play the bottom side in Scots Div 2 with the winners of that in Div 2 next season. With two games to go, Clyde 32pts, Stranraer 33 and Bonnyrigg Rose 35, everyone else is safe. Although surviving on gates of less than 900 (Elgin) and less than 500 for Stranraer, when they play each other it's a 300 mile / at least 6 hour journey.
  22. Evert fan in the land will tell you "We always struggle against the bottom tams".
  23. Quite a large crowd there today; from the PUFC site; Half-time: Bristol Rovers 0-1 Peterborough United Full-time: Bristol Rovers 0-2 Peterborough United Attendance: 8,714 (602 Posh fans)
