  1. Following on from Prowed and Wembely etc; I'm surprised that red paint doesn't state Feak Andy. As for the next line, save paint and use the acronym; R.A.T.S.
  2. Ever pondered why you're single?
  3. http://www.fawanews.com/Bristol City vs Blackburn Rovers.html fawa are streaming City's game free as usual.
  4. If HW is redundant, that means he's Out of Contract. Would he be any good as centre forward?
  5. Then they really would be going down hill
  6. What is the current mood on gaschat please? If City lost 2-0 at home on the Saturday and the Tuesday, OTIB would be in meltdown. When I try accessing gaschat I'm met with; Website blocked due to trojan Website Blocked: gaschat.co.uk v2.6.24 | Trojan: 2.0.202404100808 Malwarebytes Browser Guard blocked this page because it may contain malicious activity. 7. Agreed. Does the club receive more from the EFL for finishing 7thrather than 17th?
  8. My favourite memory; playing Cardiff Dickie was marking tall John Toshack. Going for a high ball, Dickie outjumped JT and won applause for that simple header from the AG faithful. I met him once in Boots at Broadmead. Although not a match day, he was wearing his City jacket.
  9. For younger forum members; 7th April 2015; was in the middle of a 15 match streak winning ten and drawing five. That particular day City 3 - Swindon 0 or s I posted on FB at the time; What a great night's TV; Bristol City 3 - some dirty, fouling thugs 0. We are going up!
  10. Guess what; another forum with pessimists posting their fears. https://www.brfcs.com/forums/topic/36942-v-bristol-city-a-10042024/ 1; Bristol City are a menace. They are well capable of soundly beating any team in this division and equally can play like absolute dross. This could be an absolute chasing for us or a three point Ashton Gate benevolent evening and there is no predicting which it will be. 2; No real options to freshen things up will see us lose this 2-0 I reckon. 3; A tough one at Bristol, like yesterday it's very important we don't pick up early yellows and see out the first 15 minutes.
  11. OK; the Board need to decide if City are a selling club and sell Max and a few others to leave and use their fees to keep the club going for another years or two. Alternately; we have the nucleus of a decent side here. Speculate to accumulate and buy in some top Champ level players and go for it. If this season's promoted clubs decide to allow some first teamers to leave, we should at least have a look as hey are good enough to get promoted from this level. As stated in the OP two strikers are required to capitalise on the balls we put into the area.
  12. The Sunderland forum has 55 pages on this thread. Amongst the snippets was this gem; " Got to give some credit to their goalkeeper. He was a right pain in the arse."
  13. Hopefully the last few games have added an extra 0 to his sale price.
  14. No; futile means no purpose. Surely they do have a purpose; making us laugh each week.
  15. A point won rather than two points lost.
  16. That play towards the end of the 1st half; well worked positive team work. Just missing the culminating goal, but great improvement on earlier in the season.
  17. Is that three or four great saves in the first half hour? Thank you Max.
  18. Here's a link that starts about 5 mins before ko. http://www.fawanews.com/Sunderland vs Bristol City.html
  19. Clarke Osborne has been mentioned several times previously on this and other fora.If a sports club; football, rugby, speedway etc is about to fold or become homeless, C O is frequently linked.
  20. On five live this morning this was stated , plus Plymouth need a saviour.
  21. Joe Jordan thirty years ago? As for Rotherham's relegation. looks like they could be joined by neighbours Sheff W and (only 30 mins away) Huddesfield. With Sheff U about to exit the Prem, a lot of South Yorks sadness about.
  22. The OP asks "This question has always interested me, especially with the suggestions on here that SL should sell up, but what happens if he decides he doesn't want to be the owner, this isn't for him, and there's no one else waiting to buy the club?" Remember Rushden? Just 20 years ago City were playing them in League One. Max Griggs died and his relatives weren't interested so no more bank rolling the club. They dropped down the Leagues and in 2011 were expelled from the National League due to their unstable financial position. They have reformed but at a very low level, Bury; financial difficulties and expelled from the EFL August 2019. Reformed and now play in the 9th tier.
  23. Dennis Smith managed both clubs (at different times in 1991/92; When John Lumsden was dismissed, Dennis Smith was appointed manager. He was recommended by Brian Clough of Nottingham Forest and had guided Sunderland into the first division two years ago, but he had been sacked after the defeat at Ashton Gate in November.
