It was the Yeovil caller who made me laugh: "I'm gutted Geoff, you know? I don't know how the ref didn't, you know, award us that penalty, you know? It was so, you know, clear cut, you know, and I'm, you know, fed up with referees favouring other teams but not us, you know? I wasn't at the game, I listened to the commentary ..."3 points

L1 looking a bit sick this morning, whilst we are still in a playoff place in the chàmp. No shame in losing to Leeds when we had 5 key players out, but losing to Rochdale, I ask you, especially after being drubbed 4 0 wy the shrews last week. How they must envy the atmosphere of a 24k+ crowd in a stadium against an 8k crowd housed in tents and tin huts.2 points

One of them was blaming Clarke for not signing any quality. Geoff correctly pointed out it needs to be sanctioned by the board which wasn’t done. Still don’t get it some of them.2 points

To be fair, Geoff told him pretty much to piss off and then made a big deal about only ringing in if you`ve got something to say about your own team.2 points

Radio Bristol phone in post match last night. Sag rings in wants Dopey out, no mention of Dunford ( RIP ) . But chose to to congratulate Leeds , whilst his own team have just lost to Rochdale. Yet we're obsessed. #ticktock2 points

I see the crowd at Rochdale yesterday was 2900, I presume they only gave out the away support.1 point

It wasn't that long ago that they were all taking the piss about City's downturn in form after Johnson was given a five year contract. How many years was DC given in his new contract this summer? Happy days.1 point

The other thing is that the conference will not let any club in admin enter so if they timed it wrong.........1 point

If you took some of the shit us older ones had from them over the years and, without too much reason, you'd have a warm feeling in your belly and be a little more interested in their troubles/demise, if that's what it is. They can count themselves lucky they had the resources and a stay of execution, by bringing in a manager that knew the non league scene and, what it took to kick and cheat their way out of it.1 point

Pretty much except I would prefer it if we could avoid descending to their level and not use the racial stereotypes.1 point

Fair points both, and you're right Archie. I misread the chart and was one season out with the low crowd. Point still stands though that most of the fans City gained in the Div.1 days were off pretty sharpish once we started plummeting - they certainly didn't become long term City fans gained in terms of attending. 1978/79 - 22,306 (Div 1) 1982/83 - 4,799 (Div. 4) 1983/84 - 7,287 (Div. 4 promotion season)1 point

Yep, most of the new supporters of the late 70's First Division BCFC disappeared pretty sharpish once the going got tough. City's average gate: 78/79 - 22,306 83/84 - 4,799 As one of the less than 5k who were there all the way through I remember it got bloody draughty in the EE.1 point

You'd be surprised. A lot of people are scared to buy them. The other week for example, I went to B&Q to look at outdoor solutions and some bloke in orange asked me if I wanted 'decking'. I got the first punch in and made good my escape, but with aggressive pensioners standing guard over outdoor seating solutions, it's no surprise some people fib.1 point

Yer 'tis........these figures were produced around 2009 so we wouldn't have had as many season tickets or levels of attendances back then as we do know. Another gas myth well and truly blown out the water1 point
