  1. Maybe they should start banning shit officials. Numerous letters of apology to LJ about bad decisions. But no action taken against the ref who gave them. Yes he should be disciplined but I can understand his frustration or any other manager with these inept officials.

  2. "It wasn’t that bad. If you’re talking about scaling it, it definitely didn’t question integrity and I’m a bit of a bird watcher so I shouted a name in mid-air that was potentially looking at a bird called a blue tit that was on top of the Luton stand and I think it got misconstrued that it was aimed at the referee," he added.

  3. Great thread they’ve got going on over there, however I’ve read and re-read the post below several times and can’t decide...is this Saghead actually claiming that the Gas are bigger than some clubs in the Championship?

  5. I can smell a legal challenge here from Keogh. Unless he was told, whether by dint of being club captain or specifically on the night that he had to basically stop grown men drink driving, then his actions in getting drunk are theoretically less serious than the other two as he didn’t put himself in charge of a car. As has been said, this looks to be about transfer value and ability to currently play. Derby’s statement indicates sacked for gross misconduct - but that misconduct looks to be less than Bennett and Lawrence. The injury is circumstantial here in the context. He put h

  6. Funny how, he wasn’t the one driving or being the wrong side of the law but has been sacked, whilst the two who were found guilty of drink driving still keep their job . now call me a cynic , but might it have something to do with Keogh being injured and not being a asset anymore . something dodgy about Mel Morris imo

  7. Love his enthusiasm. I personally would play him as much as possible. I think he's absolute quality. Can't even imagine what he will become in a few years.

  10. Ok is it’s easy for us all to be moral about this....but as several of you have said above, the other two were the ones that broke the law. In some respects you could argue the club should be supporting Keogh. Just imagine he was sober and it had happened. Derby not coming out of this situation very well at all. They’ve handled it very poorly imho.

  11. Carrot before stick required. Get a decent public transport and parking strategy in place then ban all non-electric vehicles from the City Centre. Pathetic that I still can’t use the Long Ashton Park and Ride to park my car and walk to AG. The well-used ‘football special’ serving NW Bristol withdrawn at the last minute with no explanation this Season. Even worse, the very limited £100 million plus Metro Bus (which seems to take the most tortuous routes involving as many high-congestion junctions as possible to get from A-B) won’t pick anyone up from around AG on matchdays, m

  12. Not quite . . . Ipswich lost £9m on TV revenue, but got a payment of £13m The EFL also operates a Parachute Payment system within the EFL Leagues and the National League. Clubs relegated from the EFL Championship receive 11.1% of the Basic Award payment to Championship clubs for one season. Clubs relegated from EFL League One receive 12.6% of the Basic Award payment to League One clubs for one season. Clubs relegated from EFL League Two receive 100% of the equivalent Basic Award payment made to League Two clubs in the first year following relegation, and 50% of the equivale

  13. This is the guy who was wired for sound in a documentary last season. His interaction with the players, explaining every decision was refreshing and I have been looking forward to seeing him ref us.

  14. The difference between ourselves and Preston is the quality of our midfield. Theirs is combative and robust, (I am being too nice there in describing Pearson) and attack orientated (Johnson and Barkhuisen). It’s also relatively settled. On the other hand, we have Brownhill, who at best blows hot and cold, plus Massengo as the wunderkind picking up the pieces around him. We don’t really know how to fit Palmer into our style of play, except as a cameo from the bench when we are chasing the game (which was true last season too, hence the surprise that we bought him) and with Nagy out injured

  15. If like me you get a little frustrated when the team doesn't take advantage when they should i.e. failing to beat teams like Wigan to go 2nd in the league, dont be too disappointed. I have just checked the October results for the teams currently in the top 10 positions, and only Birmingham have scored more points (9) than we have (8). WBA, Leeds, PNE, Fulham, Wednesday also scored 8 points. So in this topsy turvy division perhaps we are doing better than we think we are.

  16. Correct. If he'd been given cash he'd have signed a settlement agreement restricting him from making any further claims and probably making him keep shtum about the whole thing. If he's talking to lawyers then there can't be a settlement agreement in place.

  17. Scandalous really whether self-inflicted or not, Derby seem to be a nasty little club, luckily Keogh will have the PFA behind him

  18. So, what about Lawrence and Bennett? Guessing the fact that they have transfer value means that Derby are taking an inconsistent (hypocritical) approach. Keogh wasn’t driving was he!!

But this was the biggest Gem I saw! Big fish? Really? Worst ground in League 1 by some distance, 11th on average attendances this season behind Peterborough, Doncaster, Lincoln, MK, Rotherham and Blackpool! The cheek!

  25. First step to their longed for congestion charge? I do wonder about those in charge in Bristol. As said above about coach and train stations, then try and potentially stop some people using the shopping centre while complying that people aren’t using the shopping centre. Same geniuses that don’t want the Arena next to a major rail network, but want to put it where, everyone to use the roads, while complaining that the pollution is caused by too many people using the roads.

  26. It's a bloody joke. Reason Bristol is polluted is because of all the pedestrian crossings. Traffic is stood still not going anywhere. Bridges and Subways were the answer...and we got rid of them. Add to the fact a modern diesel is cleaner than a petrol car. And public transport isn't efficient enough.

  27. I do find the full kit wearers rather odd, that's really something for children, but adults in replica shirts is perfectly normal at football and I wear mine. I particularly like their being of various vintages as you try to remember what season we wore that shirt.

  28. ...thought I'd share this 1980s FA Cup final inspired range from West Ham which I think is stunning. Prices good too. This season's kit was inspired by the same season...and is West Ham's biggest seller. This season's is made by Umbro...yet the Retro range is made by Admiral, which is true of its original. I thought that was refreshing...seeing two manufacturers being sold by the Club. It got me thinking as to whether City would ever consider getting Umbro to produce a vintage range from our First Division days. I know many blokes of mid life, consider this the best Ci

  29. Using Wyscout and looking at championship games only (discounted QPR cup game) Baker has an 82.7 overall pass success % however its the lowest of our CB's, when you look at forward passing % it drops to 64.8% where Moore, Williams and Kalas are mid 70's, long passing accuracy % is 42.2% where the other 3 are 60%(Williams, Kalas) and Moore is 52.7%, Baker has the highest avg pass length by over a metre and only Kalas has fewer progressive passes then Baker per 90.

  35. If VAR makes mistakes or causes confusion, then get rid of it. Players who score but thinking they may have been offside will look to the linesman (old school terminology) to see if a flag was raised. With VAR, he could go and have a cup of tea whilst the boffins study footage from every conceivable angle. For me, it ruins the game.

  38. The German clubs take huge followings away, particularly to Berlin. The Dresden to Berlin run is one I've done a few times for work and it's autobahn the whole way with very few speed restrictions. 90 minutes is ample. I've been to a Hertha game where Dortmund took 30k and that's a hell of a lot further but most just spend the whole weekend in the capital.

  39. As a boy from the wood myself and now resident in north Bristol, I concur. This subject raises its head every100 pages or so and I’ll never tire of dragging this info graph out..... from the planning documents for the revamp of AG showing city season ticket holders around the Bristol area (also consider we have probably doubled the number of season ticket holders since then). There is no north/south divide.....the city is red

  45. The only thing worse than middle aged men wearing football shirts, is some jumped up little Naughty Word telling them that they shouldn’t be wearing one. I’m middle aged (40) I don’t wear mine often, but I always buy one and where it when & where I like. Especially around people who say that I shouldn’t..!
