  1. That's the type of game that we wouldn't have had a prayer of winning a couple of years ago with the players we had missing. Shows how much depth there is in the squad now, and how the players who've been around for a few seasons are improving all the time.

  2. Pat has got them running through walls, they will do anything for him as they respect him so much. His people skills are amazing, the players really don’t want to fail him.

  3. Two late late try’s and it’s a bonus point win from the jaws of defeat.

  4. Brilliant come back - 7 points clear again. This is what teams were doing to us last season.

  5. There was another thread that suggested being competitive in League 2 would see gates on 10k.

  6. They really are an odd bunch. They rarely disappoint though, especially after they`ve lost.

  7. Just spent an enjoyable hour on gas chat. It’s a wonderful cocktail of bile focussed on the club and each other with a dash of resignation of relegation. What a tonic!

  8. When it’s tight a point ain’t bad. Especially when form has picked up and still have to play a few around us to play...

  10. Ffs the officials don't like Bristol do they, even the pundits think some of the penalties are harsh! The ref's giving Northampton everything.

  11. As with City yesterday, conceding on the stroke of half-time has completely stuffed us.

  12. Ends 1-1 then. Really need wins from somewhere. You know what they say about beating the teams around you.

  13. Tons of endeavour, precious little quality from our girls, but 1-1 a fair result. Couple of very good saves from our keeper 2nd half too.

  14. No mention of ‘dusting themselves down’ this week. Maybe too much dust has been removed and now he can now see how crap they are.

  15. It's a strange place. One of then started a thread suggesting that after a year off, some people might attend less often. A perfectly reasonable suggestion, given some will have lost their jobs, others will reflect on a year of missed family and friends and sadly, a few might have died. The response? Eff off down to Trashton.

  16. It’s looking deliciously ominous for Jaily Birdon and the rubbish over the river. Swindon next up, who will doubtless be buoyed by their victory today. Then Sunderland, Ipswich and Doncaster Utd I think. Reading a few comments from the troglodytes it sounds like they were absolutely wretched again today.

  17. Also, does anyone know what Steve Lansdown said in the Robins TV build-up (and other) coverage of the Conti Cup Final? I couldn't watch it as it clashed with the Zoom watchalong. Mainly asking as I came across this Sky Sports article which has quoted this: "Chelsea Women is "a critical part of Chelsea and shapes who we are as a club," Abramovich has told Forbes in a rare interview. "I see no reason why clubs wouldn't want to support women's football and provide the best possible opportunity for them to succeed," he said.

  18. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/12040/12251188/coronavirus-government-hands-out-680000-grant-to-help-six-womens-football-clubs "Six women's football clubs have been handed grants totalling £680,000 from the Government's sport winter survival package. WSL clubs Birmingham City Women and Bristol City Women, along with second-tier Women's Championship teams Blackburn Rovers Ladies, Lewes FC Women, London Bees and London City Lionesses will receive the funding, taking the Government's total support for women's football to £2.9m. The money will help cover the lack of spectators, allowing the clubs to complete their seasons." Don't know if it's a coincidence that all the clubs listed are either independent, or don't have their respective men's team play in the Premier League. The other WSL club that doesn't have their men's team in the Premier League is Reading. I believe all teams in the WSL & Championship are subject to the winter survival package, but it's interesting to see City Women & these other five clubs stand out

  19. I watched the Roman Kemp documentary, "Our Silent Emergency", on BBC One last night, focusing on the high number of young men who commit suicide. Heartbreaking to hear from those who had lost a dear friend or loved one. I thought that it was a brave choice of topic, as suicide is still very much a taboo subject in ordinary conversation. It's available on i-Player if anybody is interested.
