  1. I’m sure he’s gutted to be living in a nicer place, playing at a more settled club at the level, and earning a fair bit more money each month!
  2. Blimey, fair play to them. The 06/07 game they brought about 60 iirc?
  3. I think he is eligible, but don’t think he will be used
  4. Just been to the sonny stores pop up in Quaker's friar, they’ve taken over the old Klausterhaus site whilst their usual place on Raleigh Road is being refurbed. 3 courses for £25, every weekday lunch. New menu every day. Was amazing value (those with a * are eligible for the deal), essentially getting a 3 course meal that’s typically cost £40-£50 for £25. Highly recommend, and is an amazing work day pick me up!
  5. The irony in all this is, for me, if they would’ve just said something pretty cutting like “we appreciate all he’s done, but the working relationship became untenable, we weren’t going to renew his contract as a result and so we wanted to make a change” it would’ve actually made things easier for them as we are now. It would’ve been a shock, made them seem harsh and very savage, but wouldn’t have meant anywhere near as much flack and toxicity for them as they’ve ended up receiving in the long run. Whats the saying, if you tell the truth you’ll never need to try and remember what you’ve said?
  6. It’s odd how many people in football really are like that, maybe players more so than managers. I guess if you’re so involved, unless you play against them, you won’t look at football anywhere near as intently as a fan would
  7. in full time training with the first team now, judging by todays uncut vid. still No sign of Adam Murphy, who is clearly just 5 months in to the longest ‘mini pre season’ known to man.
  8. Tavistock, home of a Neil Warnock season ticket! Frequents their games quite often apparently.
  9. Ive had 3 separate messages from people saying the same
  10. It’s either… - JL is making decisions & conversations above Tinns role without consulting him, almost rendering him redundant - JL & Tinns had the conversation, and were in agreement, and Tinns never brought it up to Pearson - JL just made it up as a throw away comment/perception off the cuff in the interview Not such which would be the worst tbh!
  11. No shock one bit, we all knew it. There’s not an ounce of class, real experience or professionalism between any of them, let’s be real.
  12. I think this & a few other pointed comments have all been quite clearly aimed at ‘the board’ - along with the “not going to change things overnight” “the squad is weaker than last year (paraphrased)” “difficult to change anything mid season” as a bit of ‘it’s not me guv, it’s them’ from Liam & Hoggy, and that the squad isn’t as good as was shouted from the rooftops about back in the autumn. I still standby the fact I’d be amazed if the squad is 2 players bigger in August than it currently is, and that there won’t be much movement in/out. They’re not stupid, and know the pressure that’s been put of them by the comments in October & November, but the recent run of results has probably given them a bit of license that currently, in their mind, they’ve bailed JL/Tinns/GM out a bit of what was an extremely toxic situation.
  13. Because he had at MK & Oxford too, so won’t just be from his time here so far. It’s pretty clear that a lot of people at the club read (and join!) here though, and however much they deny it, read twitter.
  14. Think Josh has WSM written all over him, although may not be good enough on the ball or technical enough for their style. I never quite saw it in him personally, I guess Yeovil need to be a bit more ruthless now though. James Morton been flying at Southend. Would be amazed if he’s not back in the EFL within the next few windows.
  15. It depends on the teams that came down/up from the leagues around, and their location I think. Is the same as those that come down from NL, if there’s too many north/south teams they essentially ‘move the line’ of what classes as north & south divide madly.
  16. “We sold no tickets in the south stand, no one renewed” “Wait a minute, that’s means…. We sold out!!!!”
  17. Manning looked like he couldn’t be less interested in him when asked in the presser. “has looked decent in training this week, tbf” basically = “he’s been ******* crap usually” !!
  18. Nah I know a few people in SS who haven’t renewed at all so can’t be, ah well not a big deal I guess
  19. I’m confused, how can the south stand be “sold out” if they aren’t letting anyone buy STs there?!
  20. Given the deadline has been and gone, and nothing has been said about number of renewals vs the amount of posts that were made at the same point this time last year, suggests the numbers are probably not looking very good thus far.
  21. Couldnt agree more. One of my childhood best mates was pro at Rovers for a few years, was taken out of school here and there to train with the first team when we were in year 11 (naturally, the coolest thing imaginable at that age). Ended up signing a 2 year deal pro, first team player, starting a fair few games here and there, then renewed for a further year before being released the year they went down to the conference in 2014. On the face of it, he’s living the dream/made it/a pro athlete/anything else you want to say. And probably fell into the usual stereotypes many people would think of a young footballer at that time, lounging around playing fifa together etc. He had basically no intention of trying to climb back through the leagues of trying to scrap off one year deals here and there, ended up turning down the latter at Exeter and maybe some others. Had a chat with him about it, as typically me and our mates couldn’t get our head around it, would tease him a bit for ‘giving up’ etc, but he made a snap comment that really changed my perspective on any young player going through that period, of which there’s hundreds and hundreds at any time - not quite verbatim, but basically “Would you take a full-time job being paid £12k a year for the next few years, where you could get told you’re no longer needed & get sacked at any point?”
  22. Came back from u17 World Cup with a “this isn’t what I play football for” type mentality apparently. Hated all the noise, stress and media around it. Probably explains why he wanted to stay at non league level basically forever thereafter.
  23. Think the latter is already planning on going back to Guernsey. The one that’s really stood out to me in recent years is Opi Edwards. From what I saw of him for Weston this year, would honestly say he’s probably toolstation level, if that.
  24. In hindsight, appointing someone who needed “real convincing to join” and even after agreeing didn’t want to take charge for another 4 months, the warning signs were certainly there! Any excuse for a shameless plug too:
  25. Big time, in olde English. And another one on my back about hair loss & snakes, which I’m not entirely sure of the relevance of but it’s there nonetheless
