  2. Anyone hear the Simon Mann/Vaughan exchange? Bracey had just taken his first test catch, which Mann praised him for - exchange went something like this: MV: Unlike you to praise someone from that side of the city. For those that don’t know, James Bracey is a big Bristol Rovers fan. Allegedly, he’s a real anorak about lower league football SM: Well he’d have to be supporting them

  5. Amazing how such a major construction project slap bang in the middle of Bristol has been undertaken with such little disruption - it`s almost as if nothing`s been going on at all. Well done to all concerned.

  7. With Robinson, I think we just need to get on with it. A lot of people will have different views at 16-18 than they will at 24-26. He’s apologised and said he isn’t like that anymore. Kind of have to believe him without any evidence to the contrary. This is hugely embarrassing for him and will affect what a lot of people think of him from now on. Maybe that’s punishment enough

  11. I normally wake circa 3am most nights for about an hour and then doze off again. I also have Sleep Apnoea so need to use CPAP at night. As for emptying my bladder at night my mattress absorbs most so no great problem !!

  12. Interesting reading a comparison to Joe Clarke/Tom Kohler-Cadmore who were involved in the Alex Hepburn stuff but their extent being involved in WhatsApp group messages which is a private setting vs Robinson's use of Twitter. Clarke and Kohler-Cadmore were fined a small amount but also banned for 4 games (being dropped from the lions tour they were on) and it was deemed they got off likely. Wonder whether we'll see Robinson dropped for a few tests on the quiet making it look like rotation while Stone/Overton come in or Woakes etc for the India series.

  14. Your sleep pattern should slowly get back to normal...if you wake at 3 so be it......the more you think about it the more it will keep you awake. I often wake at 2 or 3 and just think "oh well, I'm awake, so what ?"...... to then slip back to sleep for a few more hours. The times I've had a quick look on this forum early hours, you'd be surprised how many people are online at that time so we aren't alone...?

  15. It’s been going on for a LONG time as well. I seem to remember way back in 2013 at the JPT derby match they were singing “we’ve got our staydee-uum” for at least 30 seconds before continuing their 90 minutes sponsored silence.

  16. In a slight twist on the ask... Have to say that the two occasions I've eaten at Urban Tandoor I was pretty underwhelmed. For a restaurant to have so many awards and positive reviews I was expecting something really special and whilst the food was nice and the service good, it was absolutely no better than any number of other Indian restaurants.

  20. I must admit I’ve finally got used to Somerset’s top order being woeful, especially in the first innings. I used to get wound up but now I just know the middle/bottom order will always dig us out. Incredible really, never known a team like it.

  21. Yes it started with Vaughan asking him if he enjoyed being on comms when a Rovers fan took his first test catch. Mann said - you can’t have it all your own way. Vaughan now amused asked him if it’s a double edge sword when Bracey does anything good . Mann: ..............’silence’................Robinson bowls to Conway Then as you say he soon jumped on the Bracey’s apparent knowledge of the lower leagues. I think Simon preferred commentating on Trescothic

  27. Pasture - best steaks in Bristol, but everything on the menu is immaculate. It'll get a Michelin star soon I'd have thought Souk Kitchen North St - consistently brilliant Gambas - seafood Spanish tapas with a Michelin plate, owned by a City fan. Best views across the harbourside from any eatery in Bristol Klosterhaus - been twice since lockdown ended. Has a Michelin plate. Gourmet German/mid-Europe cuisine Cargo Cantina - Mexican open tacos, margaritas, ice cold beer in a dive bar setting at Wapping Wharf, also owned by a City fan Places for Indian: Coronation Curry House and Raj Bari Visiting Sunny Stores in Bemi in a couple of weeks which is very highly regarded. Also, really need to make the effort to get to Tare and Box-E but you need to book well in advance for both.

  37. Sorry but two or three games aside that 40,000 stuff is bollocks. Dig out a book and look at our attendances in the top flight, I can remember a few games with barely 15,000 of us there & 20,000 being very good for us & that is well before we started our fall. Our gates then fell off a cliff, I can recall Championship standard games in crowds of 6000. It was built back up under the Cooper & Jordan era but dropped again under Osman. Our support in the last few years has been absolutely amazing, partially because anyone moving here & interested in watching football is only going in one direction.

  38. Yeah, I completely agree. I can't help but think how exciting he would've been in an old side with Kieswetter. Compton and Buttler. Somerset seem to be on a bit of a downward spiral. I hope you're feeling better mate!
