Plenty of advice here so will make my post short. Been many times in the last 40 years, especially when I lived just a drive away. Still a city with a lot going for it but personally I’d avoid Las Ramblas, nothing like it used to be, now just very tatty, tourists hot spot with people trying their best to rip you off. As mentioned pick pocketing is still a very popular pastime, never happened to me but two friends had passports nicked a few months ago on the metro. Follow the locals and not the tourists and you’ll have a much better experience imo.

I think the point is a potd fan is going to spend more than a season ticket holder that doesn’t attend. At bigger clubs there is evidence that they spend more than attending ST holders, Spurs are trying to get more potd fans as they, especially the South Koreans spend over £200 per person. Obviously that would be hard to match at Ashton Gate, our one rail of clothing in the club shop couldn’t really support that!

I’m guessing like me, you and many others have paid upwards of £400 for your ticket and I don’t think anyone has been moaning about those people not making every game. The problem lay with seats that had sold for 40? odd quid to kids that rarely or never attended. As this was mainly in the south stand, the cheapest stand that the occasional supporter would most likely want to buy a ticket for, then it’s obviously a money missing opportunity for the club.

I’m sure there wasn’t that many available in the Dolman at this stage last year, especially the centre blocks. Might be wrong though

Seems to be an awful lot of seats available in the Dolman stand. Everyone around me in lower Lansdown seems to have renewed and of course we can’t see the south stand. I suppose we’ve still got seat moves and new sales but unless I’m missing something there’s a hell of a lot of green blobs around.

Agree, well put. How anyone can think what happened there is fine for the game I don’t know. If you can’t see an obvious error within seconds of seeing a replay then on field decision stands. Officials would obviously have to go back to decision making instead of just waiting for VAR

The authorities will be glad Coventry have fallen out of the play off race a bit else it’d be a nervous 30 odd minutes coming up, what with the play off final being the day after the FA cup final

A couple blokes at cricket yesterday saw my City cap and said they would be buying a season ticket for the first time. My guess is the numbers have been very low but loads renewing this weekend and tomorrow but overall we’ll be slightly down on last season. I’m just guessing though.

I know it’s difficult nowadays as overseas players are rarely available for the whole of our summer like they used to be. But once we couldn’t get Will Sutherland because of injury we shouldn’t have bothered, unless a real gem came up like Henry last season. I’d be very surprised if Pretorius performs any better than Green would have. And the point is the club are in big cost cutting mode, no Brian Rose gates on the Morrisons side open during championship games. The majority of the Somerset stand, which offers good respite from the burning sun in the afternoons, closed. Yet they spend thousands on bringing a player unlikely to better what we’ve got. Anyway, besides that little moan things are generally looking good at the club, just give me a wicket to cheer me up this afternoon!

I expected a backlash from Notts today but even so this isn’t going at all well. Can’t for the life of me understand why we loan Ben Green out and spend our hard to come by cash on Pretorius.

Oh and Richard Gould was there with his dog. I was wondering if Nige was there, he’s a big cricket fan and supports Notts I believe.

Agree, I don’t know why I enjoyed that more than I have for a long time. I was even wishing I lived in Taunton so I could easily pop in and out for every game this summer. I’ve liked the look of this squad for a from the start and with the a bit of luck and the weather gods in our favour who knows where we could end up….. Second probably. A real long batting line up with Abell still to return and if we can keep Aldridge and Overton fit, Leach and Bashir will also have a lot to do as the summer progresses. Really looking forward to the summer ahead.

As someone who was undecided but always probably going to renew, I am now really looking forward to next season, misplaced optimism probably. I wonder if any others have been persuaded to renew when a month ago they were in the “not sure” or “probably not” camp?
