  1. Honestly I didn't expect that. Crucial win. Good job, ladsssss!
  2. Disappointed and a bit worried too. Let's hope it's only a matter of time needed to fully adapt to new coach's philosophy rather than a more deep downgrade...
  3. We needed points after some delusions, we got one. TBS, we really have to improve in converting chances in goals.
  4. Saints one class above for most of the second half, but in the last 10-15 minutes we did better: shame we lacked something in accuracy/decision making (ex: Cornick's counter attack). Anyway, more positives than negatives IMO.
  5. Satisfied with our performance so far: less of the ball but solid in defence, good energy in midfield and a few chances too.
  6. FT. Great result, well done lads! Some positives, some work to be done too.
  7. More surprised by the penalty given than about the score.
  8. Did you read "mainly"? A foreign manager could have offered other things, like different footballing background and methods.
  9. I didn't know him before reading some info on here, but I honestly find this appointment underwhelming, mainly for the lack of experience at Championship & PL level: I would have preferred another experienced manager or a foreign option. He'll probably change something on technical & tactical levels (for the better or worse, we'll see), but I hope that the positive work done by Pearson won't get "lost" and he'll be able to maintain the cohesion of the group high. Anyway, I'll support him at 100%. Good luck, LM!
  10. Phew! A ray of light in a cloudy week. Glad to see some key players back in the team, even if the performance was less satisfying than the result. COYR!!
  11. I didn't see him as a super manager as some on here, but he surely had a positive impact on our club/team, overall he did a good job and should have been supported more by the board. I liked him and I'm gutted to see him leave at this stage. Thanks Nige and good luck.
  12. A huge own goal by SL and co. and a nonsense decision given the circumstances (bad results influenced by injuries). Really disappointed and a bit worried too about the rest of the season.
  13. Yeah, it's a vicious circle, but all starts with an anomalous number of injuries at the same time. If we had the same number of injuries but "shared" in different moments of the season, the impact would be different both on the single player (less chance of recurring injuries) and the team, not to mention results.
  14. I still think it's mainly bad luck: there are other teams who play with a high intensity style, other teams who have old/injury-prone players in the squad or a relatively small number of players...yet nobody reaches our number of injuries so frequently, season after season. I get some of the criticism about SL (Scott money not invested), but honesly I don't think that having 2 more players would have changed much of our situation (what if they got injured too?). Frustrating, cruelly undeserved, but we have to cope again with this huge problem. A deep analysis of training regime etc. should be done, but I'm not sure it would give us many answers. At this point, should we take a look at the free agents market, at least for a defender, or should we resist until some players are back/until January comes? Wage bill an issue or maybe not so much?
  15. Worried about this game's outcome and the possible effects on the following ones: assuming that the number of injuries won't decrease... optimistically I think we could lose narrowly today and draw the next two, pessimistically I wouldn't be surprised by a losing streak. Surely a hard time for this group of players and the manager, and they deserve a lot of support. COYR!
  16. A team with a lot of injuries, which had to spend much energy in the last game, with the manager's position in doubt VS a strong team with less injuries, which is flying and will be fresh thanks to the postponement of Friday's game: it doens't bode well for us. I think that a defeat tonight would be understandable, a point would be massive.
  17. In the second half the stream worked perfectly.
  18. Even second half, except for their late pressure. Not a great show but a very good win, especially given our injury situation. Dickie MOTM but Pring was excellent too, good performances by King and Sykes, more hard work than quality from the others, included Yeboah, who did some clever tackles. For once a good refereeing too.
