  1. City need to win 5 from 6 and not lose the other... It's not happening. Next season.
  2. Good to hear Benik is having such a good game. Looks fit then obviously.
  3. Short crust is quite strong actually especially if you leave the pastie in the oven for two hours. Flakey is the one.
  4. P.s. have they been messing around with otib again.. all these silly little extra features and my corrections sibling up as a repost... Modern is not always good chaps. P.s... I an on VPN... No OTIB in Asia... Fix it . Thank you very much indeed. Oh see... Done it again.
  5. I know right. Those were the days tho. We had a bright yellow velvet sofa, Dad had an XL silver MK3 Corrina and older brother massive gold platform shoes...Spandau Ballet and Madness playing on the Rotel system... Crackin 80's.
  6. Thank you chaps. Fabulous memories both mine for the joy of the game and yours for remembering. What's the secret? Rogaine? Super Greens? I know... Fish and chips.
  7. Well folks, I thought I would give this a go inspite of feeling rather miffed with football. I would say we are all feeling the blues. I suspect a fair number of us over 45ers can remember the day we got a result in the cup at the City ground. I am saying this from pure memory. The most vivid part of the trip north was when we scored, someone help me out and say who - Barnard?, I was at the front of the long stand. I jumped for joy ripping a 6' gash in my new green cords. Plus a bit of blood later I recovered my sense of balance and thought for a while we were invincible. Not felt that way until we were promoted with Stevie C to be fair. Or perhaps for a smidgeon when Korey got that goal v Man U. An away win bizarrely puts us back, sort of, into the mix. I shall not wait up but look forward to reading this forum match day tomorrow post by post and feel the anticipation, the glory, the dullness.... Shall I end there?. Night all.
  8. 90% of those who have passed away are over 80 and a higher percentage than that had an underlying condition. It is total muppetry that the world has to stop for everyone.
  9. And in other news, 5 of my neighbours tested positive for flu.
  10. Good. Serves em right. I would very surprised if Boris follows that Muppet up north. I do have a particular dislike for that woman so anything disparaging said about her gets my support. Known as the G strain... Which is far more prevalent than the D strain experienced mostly in Asia... Even more reason why the lockdowns down here are somewhat over the top. The Philippines have done a puny number of tests so have absolutely no clue and give out numbers which are clearly a miniscule of reality. That said it's not the G strain, as far as we know, the lockdown came too late, March 15th, so it is a complete waste of time.
  11. The Premier League season will be completed in June at the FA’s St George’s National Football Centre (NFC), with players from every club staying at local hotels under lock-down, according to sources who spoke to the SKWAWKBOX. The FA is arranging hotels for each club, but only players and staff will be there – players will be apart from their families for the duration of what will become effectively a World Cup-style finish to the season.
  12. Perth Scotland or Western Australia.. the latter has no lockdown but only 2 useable football grounds. Bit of a treck but I suppose doable. So the Championship can conclude in Vietnam then? Lots of grounds and no lock down either. Just up the road for me. Bring it on. League 1 in Bangladesh anyone?
  13. If only Botham had joined us instead of Scunthorpe.. we would have long been in the top flight.
  14. I don't see any point whatsoever in a vaccine being considered a silver bullet. Like flu this is already mutating in, by one report, 30 variants and yet flu still kills upwards of 600,000 a year. It's a pity we do not have a world leader right now who can stamp their authority on this and take a lead. We are seeing a speeded up transferring of power from the USA to China because of that and because of this lockdown.
  15. So something resembling carnage is developing at Derby and Sheff W? And are Brentford suddenly in the dock?
  16. I very much doubt it is either or. blockquote widget - those two words just appeared and has me scratching my head so will leave it to mull. I was going to say one thing about your post...arhh yes ... The govt originally adopted the Oxford Medical Institute (maybe wrong name) advisory for the lockdown etc but then dropped it for Imperial College... From what I have read the preparedness plan was better suited to Oxford. They changed to Imperial because they said unless you do this, this and this you could have 250,000 deaths... I may have that number wrong; the point being I think whatever the huge figure was focused govt minds too much, they panicked and changed course. I think the estimate then and especially now was a wholely irresponsible one.
  17. Here is my thought of the day.. The govt covers 80% of one's salary. This is a fairly generous amount and quite an incentive to stay at home regardless of a shut down. This month the govt are looking at bringing in the 100,000 or so seasonal, predominantly East European, labourers to harvest our food crops. Does this not portent to importing the potential covid 19 in far greater numbers from countries who may not be doing the same rigourous lock downs? Back to the 80% figure; a huge disincentive to be a part time food harvester and help in the national effort... Hence why we need those foreign labourers. Seems to me the govt has pandered to public demand and paid out an over generous emergency fund while not considering the implications. This being just one. Damned if they do and don't.
  18. If they are 24 million in debt I am afraid the sale of their ground won't nearly be enough to clean that slate and by a long chalk.
  19. What a rather impertinent question. As far as I am concerned China is on this map of the world of ours simply to be punished. There should be absolutely no questioning of this exercise. It should be carried out with precision and decisiveness leaving the rest of us more healthy and happy.
  20. It's all been a sinister American plot to squeeze the Chinese economy. Except it got a bit out of control. Well, it's a theory.
