  1. cast your votes please. we just hope the board look at these polls and if so, at least give them due consideration. So, in short, whichever way you feel about this management team your vote DOES COUNT and is valuable to the decision making process. http://www.otib.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=44300
  2. Style, flare, passion and commitment is what these two bring to football management. Should SL break his budget if that is what it takes to get them to come to AG?
  3. wise and wilko - its looking better by the second.
  4. its a fair point, lets hope u r right. i remember him on tv once - for sure he has had a charisma double bypass operation
  5. From the Western Mail:- part of this looks out of date with Millen ruling himself out and not sure how accurate this hopefully totally innacurate as I do not really fancy any of these except Johnson. FORMER Cardiff City manager Lennie Lawrence has been installed as 5-2 joint favourite to succeed Brian Tinnion at Bristol City. Tinnion was sacked following the Robins' 7-1 defeat at Swansea on Saturday and Ladbrokes believes Lawrence's experience could land him the Ashton Gate job. They have installed Lawrence as co-favourite alongside current caretaker-boss Keith Millen with Yeovil's Gary Johnson and Graham Taylor also fancied. Odds: 5-2 Lawrence, Millen, 7-2 Johnson, 9-2 Taylor, 5-1 Bobby Williamson, 8-1 John Aldridge.
  6. will do rocky. next time you come over i'll take you to where the best ones are mixed.
  7. yeah fraid so. toss up between marabel and luisa for supper mind u i am quite hungry so....!!
  8. rocky you replied to me post - you lovely man you! but hang on it was negative! arghh well. cheers anyway mate.
  9. Thanks for bringing up the man Ron - having read his up to date resume - not realising he had done so well in Japan on top of his undisputed achievements here, especially at Brentford and Watfords he is not a bad candidate at all. I would definately put him into my top 10 possibles. whadya all reckon then?
  10. Exactly. I, as many of us or perhaps most of us, seem to see the 'bleeding' obvious; if you employ a rookie at least have the nous to put an experienced man behind him. SL has made a big error here, he has cost us one season and possibly now two seasons. Hence why BCFC need to get a replacement for Millen. Here is where i disagree with your point about there not being a replacement available or they would have made a move. I think you are being too generous to the board. There is a plethora of coaches out there who are on the sidelines waiting for work who have vastly more experience than Millen. Anyway, it is as you say all rather sad we are yet again talking about changes but such is football.
  11. all quiet on this front then take that as a resounding NO. maybe you all want Millen to take over at the helm then?!!!
  12. Whats the verdict on Millen? We have all said our piece on Tins but could it be that he is less to blame than his number 2? After all, they are supposed to be working together but all i see from Millen is folded armed nonchalence. what say you all???
  13. Where is my prize then? Or rather I should by you one for knowing how to positively influence people with your empathy. NOT. who said anything about buying a season ticket or wanting a refund.
  14. Keep our best players you say, get out of this div asap you say. could not agree more. we've just sold our top scorer and they do not come easily which by definition therefore it might be a trifle more difficult to get out of this division. all we have is a bunch of new lads untested. continuity counts for more than most people give it credit for. city is a business quite right again but this move will help pay for the stand which might remain half empty if we do not go up - i hope the gamble pays off but with tins in charge it is still a big gamble despite the fact i think he might get us there.
  15. Southend didn't seem to think so. But oh sorry forgot; they are a big club Hmm, I bet there's a smilie on here that conveys laughter but I'm too lazy to look for it.!!
  16. we are 3rd division - so lets have the Goat back in part ex. yeahhhhhhh. forward thinking lansdowne
  17. we'll have Goater on a part cash part swap then!! love to have the Goat back on the bench!! - Southend manager Steve Tilson has revealed Reading striker Shaun Goater turned down the chance to join them.
  18. i take your point of course and this happens all the time and i had a feeling it was going to happen as many of us probably did as there was no signature BUT its a damn poor show to push for season ticket sales over the past week - many people on low incomes who can barely afford it no doubt and they buy a season ticket in not too small a part because they want to see Lita banging them in again. Cotterill i am sure is a great talent but if you use that analogy is puts us back to the beginning of last season when we were relishing Lita getting a crack of the whip. so here we go again then. that smacks of 'we are div 1 here to stay' because unless you invest you go nowhere. its great business of course don't get me wrong sell on the academy and bring on the new ones but this all takes time and can you tell me that we all relish failure yet again which believe you me is now a distinct possibility or at least the odds have definately lengthened.
  19. It has absolutely nothing to do with PESSIMISM. You miss the point entirely and in fact the few people who have actually replied to my post have also missed the point. I am not arguing it is not good business although i am sure he would be worth more in about 12-18 months time; just watch reading sell him on to the premiership for 4-5 million - what my point is precisely about is loyalty. not loyalty of the player but loyalty of the club owners and managers and decision makers toward you and me and all of us as true fans. We were told he was staying, he said he wanted to stay. so we all bought season tickets and new first and second team shirts and then, when the coffers have filled up nicely thank you very much they decide he should go - that is disloyal. I don't know about all of you but that still means an awful lot to me.
  20. Why am I not surprised by this news? Sad as it is, especially if he goes, the board and perhaps management have, I would suggest, connived to say to us all that lita was going nowhere long enough to get a decent bedrock of season ticket sales done. In my view this is bordering on client mis-representation or akin to breaking of the trade descriptions act. Its like you have purchased a car and before you take delivery they reduce the bhp by 30%. Quite frankly its diabolical. Either Mr. Landsdowne wants to sell up at BCFC for the highest price or they have done their math wrong on the new stand. So its all on the shoulders of Brooker and Stewart. Good business for the balance sheet i am sure although a fair bit of cash has and will be coming in from several sales this close season. Only time will tell if we will be challenging come christmas but that misses the point and the point is betrayal of the fan base and that is disgusting.
  21. Purgatory is only venting the sheer frustration that is felt by the true fans - and for those who say the true fans stick by city thick and thin should consider the fact that those of us who decide to step back in protest only do so to try and empower us as fans and make the board stand up and take notice. without that kind of direct action we would be in even worse state probably. it is in fact this inertia on our cumulative part that we are in such a mess now because clearly as Purg says we have an inept management team and sturcture. nobody is suggesting that their hearts are not in the right place but it simply lacks common sense and clear precise management vision that we ae where we are. 500,000 people have had enough, this stadium should be full to bursting - as it was almost at back end of last season. rich
  22. that was another post - the one that 'disappeared' was an original posting entitled - VOTE of no confidence., appreciate your reply, thanks a lot. rich
  23. Is it me or is it that the city board are scared of my posting. very odd. i posted into the ask Steve L section around 1630 yesterday next to the topic headed UGARTE and it no longer sits there. hmmmmmm. it was a valued strong but polite couple of paragraphs asking for a VOTE OF NO CONFIDENCE - all rather sinister. what are they all so afraid of? a swelling up of more anti tins and landsdown ranting because we all pay so much money to do our bit to keep this club going. this bothers me a lot now. if you have a forum the postings should be left unless of course there is bad language but i made valid criticisms. maybe too valid as it would now appear. i boycott the city now until something is done along with 6 others of us. we walk the talk. richard
