Just heard from a mate that Pring has torn his hamstring. Leaves us very short at Left Back.

    Can't find anything confirming this.

    Anyone heard anything?

Can't believe how many hamstring injuries we have had this season.

How tall is Pring? I thought it was Jay Dasilva who left us short at Left Back.

Completely agree, she got some terrible abuse about taking over as host of "A question of sport" which as usual was whipped up by the MSM

But having watched more football on TV recently than in the past, she clearly is very knowledgeable on the game and is actually a breath of fresh air on TV

I'd suggest you listen to the Scottish football commentator on Sky, he shouts all the time, but I guess that doesn't fit your agenda !!

    Sign her up, SL...!

I’m “one ine” ??! Apologies, but I haven’t got a clue what that means ... you talk about Monk’s first stint at the Swans  - that was when he saved them from relegation having taken over in February of that season - then he took them to their highest ever top tier finish the next season - you called that “looked impressive” - it was his team and his squad - he signed 15 players I believe in the pre season and January window during that season.

Swansea fans were obviously delighted with that season - the season that you said didn’t count because he’d inherited the squad and hadn’t promoted the Swans to the premier league.

And you say he hasn’t been “kept on beyond a year anywhere since...” - well you’re obviously not aware that he resigned from the Leeds United job after taking them to 7th in the championship - that wasn’t him ‘not being kept on’ - that was him walking away... and he was “kept on beyond a year” at both Birmingham City and Sheffield Wednesday ... but as you said, happy to agree to disagree ...

    You wouldn't let it lie!

they probably were rivals with Villa for a brief period....Villa climbed out of Division 3 in the 70's on their way to a European Cup win in the early 80's

So basically, the full and entire extent of their ambition is to play in the third division? Jesus wept.

Maybe. I am normally quite cynical about this sort of thing, but there's something about his unpolished vibe that I don't mind. I think it's a harmless little thing from the club and if it cheers a couple of people up then it's good.

Oh absolutely. I like it too. But I would bet anything it happened more or less as I said.

Perhaps I have 'misheard', but surely to grasp the nettle means exactly what is sounds like....

Well. I am hoist by my own petard. I have always heard, read and been taught that "mettle" is correct. So I looked up a nice link to answer you by. And in what feels very much like an example of the Mandela Effect, apparently everyone, including obscure sources I've long coveted, have always said that it's "nettle". So, I feel chastened, and not a little afraid.

Perhaps a better example, and one we can all agree on, might be Rovers' "peddle"-operated turnstiles...

    What. A. Human.

Very obvious that this was inspired by the last couple of minutes of the press conference linked above, and that someone in media/comms has gone "ooh that would be great PR if we put out a video thanking the fans for their support, go on Dean, say what you just said again but different" and Dean, slightly exasperated, has gone "Jesus, alright then"
