  1. So I'm happily enjoying a bottle of Douro red, the finest wine in the world, when I notice who the producer is...Rui "Roboredo" Madeira
  2. I'm indifferent to Marmite. I can take it or leave it, neither like nor dislike it. I'm indifferent to Marmite. I can take it or leave it, neither like nor dislike it.
  3. Now I'm confused. Can you explain how my observation was in any way personal? And how I seemed rude? I mean, I know it's subjective, but I did start the post with "No offence"! I might equally have said "Nothing personal, but". That's what I meant. I really can't see how it could be construed as rude. You must be very sensitive! I am quite sure "roster" is used throughout the world (although your phrase "in various translations" is essentially meaningless) - most of the English-speaking world these days, unfortunately, uses American English as its reference; much as the global Portuguese-
  4. You've got the wrong Nikki Wells there mate... more Babestation
  5. Not sure why you are confused, there's nothing hard to understand here. I know what it means. It's an ugly Americanism, something I dislike. Maybe you do things in your life that would make me think "why bother?!" but I wouldn't comment as I wouldn't want to seem rude. Everyone is different.
  6. No offence but you mean "in the same squad". A roster is an American thing which doesn't exist in the UK.
  7. Don't know about that but I'm all for Immanentizing the (gas) Eschaton - and if you don't know what I'm on about but you want to know where the KLF got their other name and background story from, you really have to read this: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Illuminatus!_Trilogy
  8. The only way is up and down simultaneously; we won't know which until we observe it* *The quantum physics explanation
  9. Possibly the most apt, and wryly amusing, use of "etc" ever.
  10. I used to find the phrase "Jevons to Betsy" amusing when both played for us. And then, one day, I heard those immortal words uttered on radio Bristol commentary.
  11. My favourite, "One Size" Fitz Hall
  12. "Job for Cotts" would actually make a good user name on here
  13. I know this one, I know, hang on, er... GJ No, hang on... Alan Curbishley
  14. Totally. It's been the case for me for I don't know how many years now. Although I briefly almost got interested in England again during the last world cup.
  15. Couldn't get on from Friday night until this morning. Echo what others have said about the sense of loss/panic/existential despair. Got back on expecting to find lots of talk about the downtime, but nothing, so thought it was just me. I'm comforted that others were similarly inconvenienced!
  16. Loyal and few, as recognised by the media https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/3-obvious-reasons-why-bristol-rovers-fans-are-right-to-stay-away-from-games/amp/
  17. Concourses replete with tables and chairs...
  18. Not only would they be able to, they would have had to in order to reach Holland! You said they went north! Seriously, is it just me?! So the Dutch are tall, slim and blonde, and yet it is because the Vikings chose their women for procreation that the Dutch are tall slim and blonde? Again, is it just me? I give up.
  19. Because it's gibberish. You wrote: "May be wrong, but I heard that in the days of the vikings that they ventured north to Holland & essentially pillaged their villages & raped their attractive women (a lot), which is why there are so many attractive petite/tall Dutch blondes. Definitely don't take this for fact though as I have never cared enough to actually fact check." The Vikings came from Norway and Denmark. To reach Holland, they would have had to travel South and Southwest. You mention "attractive petite/tall Dutch blondes". You are aware that petite and tall are
