Very hard decision for Potter. This is possibly his only chance to manage a top 4 side. We know that opportunities for English managers are few and far between. But surely he will also want to continue his Brighton project. Personally I would take this opportunity now whilst it’s there. If it goes wrong then he will still get a good job afterwards. I think he will go. Rodgers wouldn’t be an awful replacement but has to be question marks over his inability to sort out his Leicester defence. Steve Cooper would be a good appointment. Kompany, Hassenhutl, Postecoglou are other options. Bruno for internal.

In his last 34 games he has scored 10 goals. 34 games is less than one seasons worth of games. Or does it all have to be done in one season to follow your rules? If he scored 10 goals in 46 games in one season would that be better despite taking more games?

Don’t think you can class Cucurella as a big name signing. The problem they have now is that although their first XI and bench is very strong indeed, the squad is far too big.

The fixtures aren’t ‘planned’ are they? I don’t think there is somebody checking distances teams are travelling on a Wednesday and then Saturday. It’s just the way the fixtures come out. No planning happens as far as I know.
