  1. Indeed due to the disappointing sporting results, but still thankfull for all the good things he did for our Club. Therefore he left through the front door and will always be wellcome to visit our club. We lost against Ajax on thursday with 3-1 but kept Ajax on 1-1 until the 80th minute. Yesterday we won against the club under us and next sunday we will play an important match against ADO Den Haag who are one point behind us. Still in relegation zone, but hope for the best...
  2. We indeed lost with 0-4 against the Rangers. We didn’t play that bad, but we got a good lesson in efficiency. The goalkeeper saved Rangers a couple of times. Could have been 2-2 at half time also.... But still proud that we have reached the European tournament!
  3. If you need some extra information just send me a pm. And of course you can also join with a group coming over as Phantom stated.
  4. If we should win against Glasgow Rangers (which will be pretty difficult), the next opponent will be Galatasaray... I assume that Galatasaray will win against Hajduk Split.... otherwise we will play against Hajduk.
  5. Yes, next round it is and against Glasgow Rangers (next week on thursday)! No people were allowed in the stadium due to covid. Nevertheless almost 400 people went to Luxemburg to support Willem II. There was a hill from which you could watch the match between the bushes. So quite some people stood over there. The rest was 100 metres from the stadium watching the game on a big screen. This was quite funny because there was a lag of 30 seconds with the broadcast. So 30 seconds after Willem II scored you could here the supporters celebrating on the pitch... And yes there are quite some nice vids
  6. In case we will win the second round for the qualification Europe League we will probably play against Glasgow Rangers! Damn covid... That would have been a nice awayday together with our friends from Bristol City.....
  7. We are playing in the second round qualification Europe League against Progres Niederkorn from Luxemburg. Doesn’t sound that difficult, but a few years ago they kicked the Rangers out of the Europe League...
  8. After Sami Hyyppia and Virgil van Dijk, now a new former player of Willem II has signed at Liverpool: Kostas Tsimikas!
  9. Slot is a very good coach. In the Dutch press it is often stated that he might/will be the next trainer for Ajax. If that is really in his mind I guess a transfer to Bristol City will not be possible. Nevertheless Willem II has a draw at home against AZ and a win away against AZ last season.... AZ is still fighting the qualification of Ajax for the group phase of the championsleague, since they ended equally with Ajax in the competition and have beaten Ajax twice last season. Being coach of a team playing champions league might also be different then training Bristol City. This may sound
  10. Always welcome to visit one of our games (when people are allowed back in the stadium)! If you have any questions just send me a pm.
  11. There is no debate anymore: Willem II will play in the qualifying (2nd) round for the Europe League. Therefore Willem II has published a very nice vid. Some background information: - The supporters of Willem II have adopted the song Bella Ciao and the tv series La Casa de Papel. They have changed the lyrics and translated it means We are not best, but we do not fear anyone. - the main role in this vid is our Spanish midfielder Pol Llonch.
  12. Just to state some facts about Willem II: - three times champion of The Netherlands - two times winner of the Dutch cup - played champions league in 1999-2000 - Europa cup 2 (played against man united with a draw at home) - two times qualified for UEFA cup - qualified This season for second round qualifying Europe League - some famous old players of Willem II: Marc Overmars, Jaap Stam, Joris Matthijssen and Sami Hyypia (yes the one from Liverpool) Last but not least: the current best two Dutch players in the world (Frenkie de Jong and Virgil van Dijk) pl
  13. Miah could you explain what is wrong with Rangers, Hearts, Airdrie, Linfield, Shamrock Rovers and Benfica?
  14. Some good news in this troubled time. Today the Dutch Football Association has decided that the current table in the Netherlands will determine who qualifies for the championsleague and Europe League. The club on the fifth position will be allowed the play in the second round of the qualifying rounds for the Europe League and guess who is in this position! Yes, it is Willem II!!!! So next season european matches for Willem II!!! Let’s hope that the corona virus will be over soon (not only for football purposes) and that the qualifying rounds still will be played, hopefully with supporte
