  1. Really? Do people get offended by this or what some little Rovers fans get up to? Fair play to them if it keeps them entertained. Bristol having Rovers is like having a little brother who's still a bit immature and trying really hard to be liked. Good luck to them.
  2. Whilst those stats tell you a lot, they don't paint the full picture about how frustrating a player he was.
  3. He was a success as much as he was a failure to watch. Someone with so much skill and technical ability, that in those moments could have played at levels of the game we'll probably never get to, to being the most frustrating player to watch that made you think he was lazy and let himself down. I can't remember another player who left us that I felt so gutted about....maybe Murray when he left for Reading.
  4. Yeah a good point. I was referring to the difference in teams as well and the quality of players that has to be factored in when you compare his teams to ours. There are so many other factors to take in to consideration too that just because he's had success before doesn't mean it's guaranteed here with us. I think a few fans think, Hughton, and we are automatically promoted and it's nailed on. I'm not saying Hughton wouldn't be a good choice but once again fans have got completely carried away and are unlikely to accept any other manager. We have too many fans that live in Foo
  5. Just because opinion is such, doesn't automatically mean Hughton would get us promoted. There is no guarantee that he'll do a great job here with this squad/level of funds available under the current climate and our set up (management structure wise). He might bomb and someone else could be a better fit for City. Let's just wait and see.
  6. I think sides coming down will be under increased pressure to move very quickly to restructure their wage bill under the current crisis. That's bound to include changing the squad so I think their situations are slightly different to ours - although I do get your point that the longer the delay goes on, the more we may miss out. One thing to consider to this though is even if we had the manager in already, how much are we actually going to spend this season given the financial challenges? Rather that use what we have, extend contracts and use the players who were out on loan last season.
  7. Does anyone know if the time taken sorting this appointment is longer/shorter than previous appointments? It does feel like its dragging but is it? Or does it just feel this way because of the constant speculation about Hughton and Cook but no apparent movement. Interested to know how this compares.
  8. I'll call them today and see how it goes.
  9. Who knows. Perhaps they are preparing for the future but wanted to interview other candidates (do the due diligence part) to understand the options they have before deciding on how the coming season will financially impact the club.
  10. They already have control, in reality we don't challenge them but they do care, otherwise why would they plough so much money in the the ground, squad and training facilties?
  11. Or it could be the club saying, we accept he isn't better than Hughton or Cook but we can't afford them under the current climate and need to cut our cloth appropriately to ride out this storm.
  12. Still not heard anything. Terrible way to treat your customers. Won't be buying another season ticket.
  13. I don't think OTIB will cope if we're not 5-0 up after the first 30 minutes of game 1.
  14. If they can manage in the world of Bristolians, they'll be just fine
  15. I'll take any manager now just so this slice of comedy gold can end! [Hangs head in shame and begs the City gods for forgiveness]
  16. Oh God now you've started it!
  17. Because it's the 'done thing' and is a harmless, friendly way to say hello but mainly because we, like many other clubs have fans who see a post from an opposition fan as an opening to criticise them.
  18. Nope. Still waiting and not heard anything either (apart from the auto e-mail 14 day confirmation to my refund choice back on the 13th June). Edit: just to add i did contact Jerry last week who kindly looked in to it.
  19. Eliasson if on the wing or Nag or Han if more central.
  20. Wiemann to be subbed. Sounds like he's struggling
  21. You're right, it shouldn't be down to him. It really is staggering that the club can take this long to refund customers when businesses have been processing refunds electronically for years. It really isn't difficult. I still haven't received any emails or any refunds so no doubt I'll be contacting Jerry again at the end of the week (he advised me to if I'd still heard nothing for a week).
