  1. Truly devastating news. I’ve witnessed the effects of the loss of children more times than anyone should have to and it’s absolutely gut wrenching. If there is anything that can be done that requires funding to make it happen then I will happily chip in.
  2. This. Not rocket science. People love to over complicate what is, at a fundamental level, a very basic concept. If it’s pre season and you have a blank canvas then pick a system that you want to implement and recruit players that have the attributes you need to perform it effectively. If it’s halfway through the season and you can’t recruit, then pick a system that suits the strengths of the group that you have available to you.
  3. I’m concerned he’s never been given a real chance. To essentially pick Bailey Wright at the expense of a talent like Eliasson last night was bordering on criminal, especially as he was the only player on the pitch that looked remotely like affecting the previous game.
  4. Well it was anything but offensive as the stats will attest. Just like Saturday.
  5. Nail on the head. Completely inappropriate system for our personnel so why the stubborn refusal to adapt to what’s available.
  6. I refuse to call it a 3 at the back. That suggests a modicum of positivity. It’s a 5 at the back and it’s an enormous no from me.
  7. I think it’s fairly obvious that it was an overall assessment and not based on tonight’s game!
  8. Tin hat time but I think he’s just one of a number of players who are perfectly good enough to ‘give it a go’ but ultimately not at the level needed if we genuinely want to be any more than we are now - hopeful outsiders. Nothing against him personally. Good servant to the club and by no means a bad player. But can’t help but feel his best days here are behind him. Nagy better than him technically, Brownhill offensively and Massengo will be streets ahead as an all rounder, but he does bring some welcome grit back to the midfield.
  9. Absolutely. Otherwise who else will our back seven constantly ignore so that they can continue passing side to side on the edge of our own box!
  10. For some reason large numbers of the crowd put their phone torches on during the game and wave them about. Bizarre
  11. The moment that defined our season. I’m adamant that had we beaten wolves that night - as we could and should have done - the season would have panned out quite differently.
  12. Hakeeb Adelukan Playing for the under 23s as we speak Way too early to write off Szmodics. Look how long it took Moore to break into first team plans. Not every recruit is made with a view to immediate first team football. Sometimes you will sign a promising player knowing it could be a couple of years before they’re at the level they need to be.
  13. I quite like Pato. But where will he play? Seems we don’t want to play with wide midfielders or a number 10 these days unless we’re chasing a game.
